Ms Phelps is a wonderful lawyer and sat with me and explained everything and her staff is wonderful I would recommend her and the office staff is very good at returning calls

Avoid this woman at all costs. She lies and treats her clients like garbage. I was not allowed to talk to or even meet this woman prior to my hearing. I sent all of my medical information to her, as requested, by email. After which I received a reply stating that they had received everything, but when she showed up for the hearing she didn't have any of it. She then berated me in front of the judge for not getting her this information. After the hearing she then told me it wasn't her fault because all of her employees quit on her and she couldn't keep up. Needless to say I lost my hearing. After finding an attorney that knew what they were doing I was able to get my disability on the first try. I most certainly do not recommend this person and after seeing the other reviews I see that it is not a one off. Beware she has now changed her name to Mary Ellen Felps.

My brother wasted almost a year trying to get social security disability for terminal cancer. Ms Phelps efforts resulted in him getting checks in only three months.

Ion have been waiting 2 years and still nothing everytime I call her office the staff say the same thing forgetting I guess what they told me the last time Any recommendation on finding a new attroney

His attorney Mespecially Phelps was very disrespectful and rude and told me that I should just go get job lile everyone else and was given all necessary evidence and files from my family and self by hand and when we went to court she then stated she didn't have them cause of her supposed partner that was in a accident that was my representative left and she lost the files cause of his staff but the truth was i had handed her staff my files by and even had a complete copy sitting in the waiting room with my family members as well we're in court she refused to allow me to retrive them from outside statight it didn't matter and wasn't useful thend tells the judge she would get it and use it in the appeal and then never did continue to tell me she received a denial letter from social security when the truth was i got a letter stating they allowed me a 25 day period to put in futhere new evidence for the case and when confronted in her office she said she didn't have a letter she is vile .

his attorney yelled at me in her office for nearly 30 minutes. Her employee didn't tell her I had an appointment. It's very hard for me to get anywhere.I was told it would be a free consult & I would be there for 90 minutes, but she said it would cost me $400 or more when I got there. She refused to meet w/ me in a room, demanded to know my questions in waiting room where there was no privacy. She also yelled at me, "If you can email a law office, you can work! If you can get to a law office, you can work! If you can go to church, you can work! If you can have a boyfriend, you can work!" She said that bc her employee failed to tell her I was coming, she would yell at him for over two hours so he wanted to kill himself and then she'd fire him. I have filed a formal complaint against ME Felps w/ the TX Bar. She should lose her license. I am 99% certain that she gave me completely incorrect information on a very important matter. She is unprofessional, inappropriate & verbally abusive.

She took my case when no other attorney would. I have not had any communication issues in reaching her office. The initial consultation was very in depth.

Mary Ellen Phelps is INCOMPTENT. She does not prepare for the case, she does not follow up on paperwork requesting information or acceptance of the date and time of a hearing, she is rude, she is a bully. She lies about how the hearing is going to go, then yells at you in the middle of the hearing because you didn't bring documentation that she never told you to bring. I doubt that she reads this site, but she is aware of the lawyer rating system and that is where I am going next. She needs to lose her law license and crawl underneath a rock where she belongs.

absolutely no follow up, unprofessional, disorganized, doesn't file anything on time. Her partner quit who was handling my case and I was not even notified, I found out when some legal forms were mailed to me by the govt asking why I hadn't filed something within the right timeframe. I had to call the office for them to tell me my legal council had quit. Called back several times asking to speak to Mary Ellen and never even received a returned phone call.

Avoid this woman at all costs. She is crazy and has been held in contempt of court. She did very little to prepare and once again delayed the case. She is unprofessional and her staff uneducated. Avoid her... there are many other good attorneys who will represent your and be much more professional than she is.

Attorney Phelps has been very good to my family and I. She was very knowledgable in the Social Security laws because everything she told us took place at around the same time frame in which she said it would. She explained things to us in a professional manner and was never rude or condescending. Her staff was always nice and if they could not give you an answer about something they would deliver her a message and she would give us a call as soon as she could, which was never more than a couple of days later. My family and I were very satisfied with her service and I would recommend her to friends and family.

Mary Ellen Phelps ia a Social Security Attorney .She treats her clients with disrespect . She is a Preditor and a bully .She has told me that she has over 300 clients and that she has no time to talk to her clients . She has made promises that she does not keep . she is only in it for the money not the principle.she does not educate her clients on their case she jeopardized my case by calling a Dr at the hearing an Evil Women . the Judge rprimanded her and he could've changed his verdict . She had told me false information concerning my benefits and medicare .I had to basically be my own attorney and do all the work that is invovled in my case with social secerity .She is rude and vile. she had also lied to me saying she was going to bring my workers comp attorney into the case so she would be better prepared .She never did .My workers comp attorney delivered my files to her on the day before the trial .She had 14 months and she waited until the last minute to be prepared . She is vile
