Mr. Katz handled the sale of my mother's house. He and his staff were efficient, professional and very friendly. Mr. Katz took the time to visit my mother in her retirement home so she would not have to go to his office to sign the paperwork for the sale of her house. A lawyer who makes house calls is truly remarkable!

Should've checked this website first before hiring Howard Katz. Just like everybody else has already said. Doesn't return phone calls, doesn't have the client's interest as his priority, nor does his firm try hard to get the best outcome for their clients. How is this firm still in business, is truly mind boggling.

Mr. Katz has been our family lawyer for over 30 years and has assisted in divorce, child custody as well has assisted in many real estate transactions. Granted, Mr. Katz isn't always the fastest communicator, but he is empathetic, hard-working and cares deeply about his clients. I would take a lawyer who cares over one who only cares about money. I recommend Mr. Katz without hesitation. He is a good person and a lawyer who will look after you and your family!!!

I am rating Howard because of my friend's experience with him. I have been very involved in the process of the purchase of his house and his divorce so I believe that although I am not a direct client, I am knowledgable enough to provide a review. A few things that happened to my friend - called him by the wrong name in an important meeting with his ex and her lawyer - he assumed my friend knew everying he needed to in regards to buying a home,resulting in cutting it close with getting funding & then told the lender that my friend didn't have the money for the bridge loan & also would be paying child support which were both false, resulting in the lender pulling their bridge loan - he didnt return calls in a timely manner and he did not communicate information or ask important questions. People hire a lawyer to protect themselves but the only person Howard is protecting is himself. Don't waste your time or your money. I would rate him a zero if I could. What a headache.

He closed the sale of our house and did awful. 1. We had little contact with him before closing date
2. Very little explanation of what documents we were signing
3. His fee was higher because we weren't fully quoted properly (his fee also was the highest of the lawyers we contacted). Part of the higher payment was not his fault but it was another $3000
4. The keys to our home were available on the Thursday (original closing date) but weren't given to us until the Friday
5. He didn't even call us Friday, we called him
6. Significant amount of money (over $1100) that we had to over-pay in our cheque to the lawyer that then took 3 weeks to have returned to us
7. Never told us to put the gas, water, or water heater in our name before moving. First 4 days in our new place with no working furnace due to gas being shut off (which also arguably led to our hot water tank breaking down a week later)
8. Our basement flooded shortly after moving in and Howard offered no legal ad

My experience has been bad with their office. Howard is great and had no problems there, but that Mary Ellen cant seem to get things done and never answers your questions. She decided not to finish my file on my closing date and left me hanging with a rental truck packed and no where to go because she lacks the skills to finish her job. I am homeless for 3 days because of that office. Why is she still there?

My experiences with Howard and his staff have only been great. I do not know how these other reviewers have come to their conclusions. Have seen Howard for various reasons (real estate, divorce, etc), and he is very knowledgeable with each. As well, his prices are cheaper than anywhere else, as I have been told when comparing with friends.

this lawyer need to retire and stop wasting people money and time. he do not take youre case seriously, loses documents and never call back.In court he just lessends and make scrabble notes. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS LAWYER.

This lawyer should be disbarred, in my opinion. He has absolutely no knowledge of any court procedure, misses filing dates, shows up to court late, and has no idea what stage my case is at when I go to talk to him. There is absolutely no communication with this lawyer, he does not return phone calls, EVER!!! I strongly urge people to avoid the use of this lawyer.
