In my opinion, Fernandes cares about money and that is it. How to maximize money. She doesn't care about the kids or people. It is all about the money. Things go on forever so that she can make more money. Things are not over as they should be. Just prolong the agony so she can line her pocket.

I retained Ms. Fernandes for a divorce and custody issues. The money I paid was far too much for the little I received. Things just kept going on and on and on. Then a friend suggested this is a way of making more money. Rather than settle things expeditiously, prolong things so the lawyer makes more money. This is a person who cares about money, even though she pretends not to. Forget the devastation of a divorce. As long as lawyers make money right. Don't go here. I do not recommend Fernandes.

I went to this firm for a divorce in 2018 the judge granted my divorce in 2019 and until 2021 bills are still coming to my house for services I did not ask for nor need. Please I am advising anyone that may want to use this firm to check your bills as they come because she will charged you for services that you don't want or need. She will also try her hardest to run up the time you spend in her office to bill you more. Anyone that have a house she will advice you to sell it and put the money in a trust never do that because they will continue to draw from that account until you are left with little or none. Also she will always try to put the case off and stretch the divorce out for her to get more money. Also, know the law and what you are entitled to prior to hiring her because she will not tell you all that you could receive, i was entitled to child support, private pension a car and she didn't tell me that.

Maria represented me from beginning to end. At first she may of thought the worst of me, by what my ex-wife had accused me of, until I provided the paper trail to show I was not who I was being portrayed during my custody/divorce case. She took it seriously. It took a few years and Maria and her assistant were amazing and saw me through it all. I have nothing, but 5 stars for the dedication and work that went into my case.

Fired her for her incompetence in handling my divorce. Bickered with wife's lawyer. Unprofessional.She drained my assets then told me I should accept initial offer. Dragged it out over a year. Afterwards, I hired a top lawyer. My divorce was finalized with me getting everything that I wanted from my mentally ill ex. Disgusted that she basically waved the white flag when money was getting low. Had to sell matrimonial home that my daughters and I should have been allowed to stay in, just to have money to keep the game going. I have a good job and paid every cent charged. Had OCL side with me and recommend I get full custody because of my ex's mental illness and violent nature. Walked out of court with her and she says I should accept their initial offer of every other weekend. Fired her the next day and hired a reputable lawyer. Don't know about her competence as an immigration lawyer, nurse or teacher, but she failed me in my divorce. Spend more money and hire a competent lawyer.

Maria represented me in the past and is representing me now. When I saw these posts I was concerned; until I went in and showed her this Web page. I haven"t laughed so hard in a long time. As a business owner I know the things crazies will do. Maria is a great lawyer and person. Not 9nly do I trust her with my case but over the years I have sent her all my friends and family and will continue to do so. As for not giving into the crazies behind this site and letting them extort money from her. Good for you!

This woman is a crook.beware .when u sign off on her..she will continue to falsify your bill and say she did work that wasn't done.triple charge you.lie to your face...what people don't know is that you can have your whole Bill Assessed by the courts!!! And win your $ -back Beware...she don't know...she's really s nurse..don't let her get away with it..I didn't! !!

Makes verbal agreements and then follows with that never happened, doctoring times called etc. I had a verbal agreement to stop at a certain amount and she claims she sent letter but it was to the wrong address. Now I am paying an extra 1000 for nothing. Also she did nothing for me. Very incompetent and also did nothing for a friend of mine 25000 later.

Maria actually listened to me. She was efficient and patient. She came in on the weekend and spent hours with me preparing paper work to ensure my matter got into Court as quickly as possible. My baby was home the first day of Court. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

I'm in every one else's position, but thought I would stand up to the overbilling. She got the overbillings through the superior court with out my defense and now taking money off my cheque. To bad I didn't get a fair chance to address my side. I think its pretty convenient to bill your client the same amount as your settlement. So my kid gets nothing from his no good mother and the lawyer gets everything.

Don't waste your time with this woman, she is not knowledgeable and has a habit of prolonging things,and not dependable and trustworthy. She is very good at billing and delaying tactics to fetch more money.

She is quick to make an appointment and draw up a contract with you but has not returned even 1 phone call in 3 weeks call she has her secertary call and say she is in court out to lunch or otherwise busy. she wanted to reschedule the 2nd appointment and at that time told me of basic information we needed to gather birth certificates and other information that we could have gathered after the first meeting in her office but she waited for 2nd meeting. her office is small and cluttered the restroom is dirty like a bus stations in US. but she can talk very well and change topics with ease that is why I stayed with her till now hoping she will do same for me and not to me, but if it never gets its day in court before being deported then it will not help. also it was very expencive 3000 so far.
