Lacks communication and ignores emails. Makes promises he doesn't keep and missed deadlines. I'm now at risk at being sued due to that. He keeps asking for more money despite no real work has been done. He's created a situation where I might have to defend myself becuase my lawyer missed multiple deadlines.

I retained this law firm but soon found this lawyer to be a big disappointment.
Inept and terrible at what he was supposed to do. Overcharges and underperforms. Stay clear!

**STAY FAR, FAR, AWAY FROM THIS PLACE** I paid $1500 for a SIMPLE marrage contract that when it came time for my wife to sign it, her lawyer, after reviewing it told her that this contract is full of flaws and dosen't make any sense because it is detrimental to my children in case of death (which wasen't even discussed) and needs to be fixed.. When I contacted my atourney at first was nice and said that he will fix it, then all of a sudden got huffy, deanded MORE MONEY! from me then all of a sudden he breaks off all communication between us and told his secretary to tell me to get lost and go somewhere else after I wanted to get this marrage contract as promised, fixed!!.. So in other words I did not get what I had wanted and paid for, and got SCAMMED! by these 2 star attorneys.. What this looks like to me is a cut and paste job from other contracts to make my marrage contract.. If I had found this "rate your lawyer" place before then I would of NEVER went into their offices.

Avoid this law firm; they talk a big game and charge by the vowel. I did not feel heard and certainly not well represented. The process dragged on over a year with no results, except thousands in billings. In the end I picked up my files, went to another lawyer and found resolution.

I had a very messy divorce/agreement. I do believe that some of the lawyers only care for their financial month end results when they are dealing with our lives, kids and our future. Hiring Mr. DeRusha was the best decision.His case presentation and detailing of the case is superb. Mr. DeRusha is at the very top. I enlisted the services of this law firm to address a particularly sensitive matter for me. DeRusha talks a big game but does not deliver. He thinks very highly of himself and his work but does not get you the results he promises. He charged us an arm and a leg to get us a result somebody fresh out of law school could have gotten us. He gets pushed around by the lawyers he's up against. After the case was done we disputed his charges with the Law Society and he agreed to immediately settle with us instead of having the Law Society arbitrate it. He lowered the fees that he charged us by $50,000. Avoid this lawyer at all costs. All he cares about is how much money he can get from you.

This lawyer is a disgusting human being. I would not touch his firm with a ten foot pool. He rambles on about nonsense, tries to sneak in fees and is disrespectful/abusive towards his clients and employees. With respect to competence, he doesn't even know how to check his emails. I went for consultation regarding a matter and prior to the arranged meeting I emailed him some information about my case. While, I was sitting in his office, he called in his secretary to open the email I sent him and print it out. While the email was printing he started yelling at the poor lady, stating "Why are you making it print slowly". This man NEEDS SERIOUS psychiatric help ASAP! That is not an exaggeration by no mans. I really don't think he is mentally stable to carry out his professional responsibilities as a lawyer and look out for his clients interests.

Alls this man cares about is money. I feel totally ripped off. If I had known more about the complaint process I would have formally lodged a complaint with the Bar Association. The complaint process has a time frame component which I became aware of too late. DeRush is vain and thinks himself a white knight of sorts. Lots of talk (blather) and excess charging. He UPPED his hourly rate by $100/hr MID-case knowing it was too complicated to switch lawyers at that point. He's the typical slimy lawyer who will suck you dry. If I knew then, what I know now......yeah, huge regret. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of this unscrupulous lawyer. Wish I had....

Worst mistake I've made in a long time. Do not hire this lawyer under any circumstance. 50k+ down the drain for nothing. Yells at his staff and talks a good game with no action. And any action that is provided is shotty and he insures that your case is never ending by taking the long way around the system so that you pay more. You are better off hiring a goat to represent you in any family matter.

Very arrogant and dismissive. His firm messed up my separation file. I fired him in the morning and by afternoon he sent me a two page rambling letter in which he apologized, then defended his firm and then accused me. It was a joke to read. I asked for the remainder retainer and told him not to contact me again. See other feedback as well and a picture emerges

My ex refused to sign our arbitration-awarded separation agreement and was forcing me to return to court to resolve the matter. I hired DeRusha to make one final request for the signature to my ex's lawyer (I had fired my previous lawyer for inaction concerning this issue). DeRusha drafted me a written outline detailing what exact steps he would take to bring the matter before a judge very quickly if we could not get my ex to sign within 3 weeks. About four weeks later (and the deadline ignored) I received a request for further retainer (an additional $1,000) which I gladly paid in anticipation of heading to court. Shortly thereafter DeRusha sent me an update letter explaining that although he had been in touch with my ex's lawyer the issue of going to court vs signing the separation agreement was not discussed. I immediately fired him. In retrospect I should have hired a reputable lawyer with a strong track record rather than someone from the yellow pages who is so unknown.
