Hired this lawyer in 2019 for a custody battle. He barely looked at the papers n told me just to sign. Asked how old my kids were, n said i quote “when their 12-13, they’re able to decide if they want to see you”. Hired another lawyer. 6months lawyer got 50/50 custody

Worst ever. Wasted 18 months of my time. Spoke to him once. He cancelled at least 10 appointments. Made me wait outside in the cold when I was on time for my appointment. Ended up leaving. He wrote an affadaffit that showed he never paid attention to my file. You will only waste your time and money on this guy. I found a new lawyer. Wow, what a difference. He told me in writing that if I wrote negative reviews of his service, I would be sued. Shows what he knows about the law. So, walk away before its too late.

I came to him for family court issues. He listened to everything i said. His answer was why don't you wait when your kids are old enough to decide who the wanna live with. Got another lawyer, and went very well, got 50/50. He is ready to take the easy way out. I think even more if he knows the lawyer on the other side. Avoid.

Mr. Martel over the course of the month leading to my case conference made and cancelled five appointments in a row. I delivered the Affidavits and Notice of Case Conference and he sat on them and did nothing. At the last minute he sent the duty council to represent me at court. Mr. Martel cancelled all appointments on the day of the appointment! I could not imagine less professionalism.

After over 7 months of his assistant lying to me about my divorce making progress and being delayed by the courts, I finally went down to the courthouse and sorted it out myself. I have been denied access to the lawyer by the assistant and now that everything is done the lawyer still refuses to communicate with me. I had a simple uncontested divorce and this is how I was treated. I would never trust him with anything more complicated.

I recently visited him with a family matter (a divorce that took place outside of Canada)and found him to extremely knowledgeable, professional, and competent. He handled and resolved my case in a very timely and satisfying manner. I found Mr. Martel to be extremely approachable and understanding. I was extremely satisfied with Alexandre. My ex-wife's lawyer was a real bulldog, but Alexandre behaved like a real gentlemen and won my case beyond my expectation! I now have custody of my sons and their father is finally paying child support through the Family Responsibility Office (the judge imputed my ex-husband a very high income thanks to the accountant report Alexandre got for me). All around I am very very satisfied with his services , we had a well thought of game plan, wich we took the time to aproach correctly, and honestly, I dint expect the good turnouts as quick as it happened. I had not seen my faighter for 8 months, my ex was giving me the hardest time she pausibly could. Martel has a busy schedule, but everything worked out great. It was one step at a time. No time ever wasted. He played his cards right. At the bigginning I was a little skepticle. But everything came together and was very technical in the case. This man is a waste of time and money. Any child could do a better job then what he can, that is if he decides to show up in court. Pretty sad when you have to ask your student to brief you and tell you what to do. The worst is that he talks in circle just to waste time and you money. The more you appear in court the more money for him. Stay away from him, you'll loose every time.

Horrible! stay far FAR away from this guy if you wish to win your case. He's all about delaying and billing. In court he stutterers in front of the judge. I wasted time and money on this guy and lost a case that should have never been lost. Screwed it up so bad a new lawyer couldn't even clean it up despite the attempts. I don't see how he can comfortably sleep at night.. oh wait, despite his failures he still gets paid.

I used Mr. Martel’s services about a year ago for my divorce case. I highly recommend him : He convinced the Judge to give me custody of my children and
obtained child support for me despite all of my spouse’s lies;
1. He took time to listen to me and answered all my questions;
2. His knowledge of Family Law is exceptional;
3. He settled my case rapidly, whereas my previous lawyers kept billing
me without any result whatsoever!
4. Considering the great result he achieved for me, his fees were more
than reasonable!

I used Mr Martel for what started out as a simple family law case. He failed at every turn! I wrote down in numbered paragraph the exact details of the story. He couldn't even get dates right. He mailed me my form 8 and I had to highlight all the mistakes and write the correct answers when I sent it back he only corrected some. He ended up handing my file back to me and said he was not able to handle this situation and suggested I go see a different lawyer as in his own words he said he did not understand nor feel as though he could handle a case like this..... I went self rep after that and got awarded full custody of my daughter and the mother full our signed her parental rights away...I'm 24 year old laborer who has no law experience at all. DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!

His communication with me was poor, I had to ask him simple questions again and again in emails to get some answers, which of course cost me every time. He looks around delay things forever so he can milk you for all he can. The best example of poor service.

This lawyer is a waste of time and money. Stay away from him. I retained him to do a simple job for me, however, he failed to do the job. He quit in the middle without showing any reasons. Moreover, he charged me more than a thousand dollars for receiving few emails from me and replying to them. You are ways better off this guy. Attention to your money and to your personal matters, give them to the correct person. I confidently can say that this guy is still not qualified. Stay away from this unqualified, non-honest, person (aka-lawyer).
