Tanya navigated my incredibly complicated divorce involving a marriage with two children and an estranged and incarcerated husband with no legal representation. It took quite some time which was no reflection on her, simply the complexity of the situation. But she got the job done. She later handled an application for access to the children when my ex was released from prison. She did not mess around. She immediately escalated it to the higher court, provided evidence that he was a danger to the children, and the case was dismissed with prejudice and proper restraining orders were put in place. Throughout this entire process, Tanya was compassionate and supportive. I simply could not have asked for better legal representation. Her legal secretary is also top notch. Many of the negative reviews seem to pertain to fees. Tanya itemizes every fee.. Many fees are ones that must be paid to the courts and do not benefit your lawyer. Family law is expensive. Period. Tanya's fees are fair.

Made the mistake of using a divorce attorney who was recommended by a friend. But all she did for me was run legal bills. Tanya requested an emergency motion but didn't file the paperwork and never filed any court documents at all, but changed me for it. I would be very weary about hiring her, and I would do some fact-checking before hiring her.

Tanya Road is disorganized, disheveled and has unethical billing practices. I wasted a year repeating myself with Tanya and she did not progress my file but would rather kick the can down the road. She’s unavailable, often cancels at the last minute and would prefer to bill for redundant conversations rather than offer actual advice or solutions. I wasted time and money working with Tanya who I lacks professionalism and integrity.

Expect to be billed for any form of communication or clarification, expect the work to have mistakes, and if your interaction goes poorly do not expect courtesy or kind communication. I was told I was "pissy" and having "temper tantrums". Its unfortunate I had a poor interaction, because she was referred by a great lawyer. Do not do yourself a disservice and find a lawyer with more emotional equilibrium and professionalism.

I hired Tanya for a custody and access dispute after using another lawyer that over charged me and complicated my case. I came to Tanya at a time when I was frustrated and had lost hope of getting any positive results. She made an immediate impact and was able to get a favourable outcome. She also didn’t gouge me for money at every turn. She cares about what she does and she does it well. I would highly recommend.

Tanya is a life saver!! She assisted in both my divorce and child custody. Being a man and filing for full custody of my child I had many worries that the odds were stacked against me but she put all those worries to rest. Don't hire this woman or firm. Incompetent and dishevelled is how I'd describe her. I used her for something fairly simple 2 years ago and I was so put off by her attitude and lack of professionalism (she didn't even look the part). She inspired no confidence, but I needed this matter resolved asap so we used her. Over charged me for the amount of work done. There are thousands of lawyers in the city. Find one of them. Whoever said she had killer legs most likely is confusing her with someone else. Also, I'm not a dog person, but I don't mind them, she has two in the office. So if you don't like dogs or are allergic, that's something to keep in mind.
