Melanie is disorganized and often goes on stress leave due to her poor health and inability to take care of herself. She hired her daughter as her assistant and is also a disorganized mess. Melanie will forget, lie, and work in your best interest if she isn't on stress leave. Pay her in big nacs and she will work hard, likes all that food.

Melanie is really disorganized mess, she will give you some strategies butin t he e end all she cares about is her hourly Billings. Just look at her appearance and you will get an idea about her work ethic.

Melanie is the type of lawyer who will show up looking unprofessional, unkept hair, and poorly dressed. Frankly it was a little embarrassing at the rates she is charging out clients. She will lie in the court room and in an attempt to win her case, but it sometimes backfires. On the positive side she will be aggressive in obtaining documents, but she will often sit on them and do nothing for months. Resolving issues is not her top priority since she gets paid by the hour she will often drag things out month after month requiring the client to follow up with issues that she has left unanswered. She also struggles to understand the case facts at times and will create additional work or billable hours instead of dealing with a simple issue in a collaborative manner.

A neighbour hired Duggan after an acquaintance recommended her. It was a big mistake and a waste of six thousand bucks. Her husband's lawyer Butterfield & Duggan had no plans to ever resolve the dispute. On Aug. 15/11 the judge ordered my neighbour & her husband to obtain CRA Notices of Assessments for the previous ten years her husband only supplied for two years and Duggan had no idea & didn't care they were filed at the registry. What she did care about was getting paid every month.

I helped a woman prepare docs from August 2012 to November 2012 and it took from the middle of September to November for me to persuade the woman to dump Duggan because she and Michael Butterfield were serious foot draggers. The woman and I, not Duggan, went to the Victoria registry to find out the husband had not provided the court ordered previous 10 years CRA Notices of Assessment and Duggan did absolutely nothing about this other than to shrug a shoulder.

Melanie is definitely worth the money. Very reasonable, understanding, and made my horrible separation so easy. Her Partners are great and they are a really good team. Highly recommended.

Melanie was fantastic! Very approachable, sensible, she listened to me and did what I asked of her. She navigated my bitter difficult divorce with a cool headed approach and was very effective in reaching a solution. I would recommend her to anyone. I have been very happy with her work.
