Hired Ernie to follow through on established procedures to ensure that an Executor of an estate in which I was a beneficiary did the accounting of the estate. Gave him all the needed information, he told me the procedure in our first client/lawyer conversation and I told him to go ahead with it as soon as possible. Straightforwad stuff. Weeks went by without communication from Ernie and I had to call him to find out what was going on and why it was taking so long. Always an excuse. It ended up taking 8 months of time with me initiating phone calls every few weeks. NOTHING was accomplished. I was exactly where I had been when I hired Ernie except now 8 months had gone by. I fired him and requested an accounting. He sent me a bill requesting more money. I contacted one of his law firms owners and told him the situation. He checked it out, contacted me and agreed that no extra payment was due Ernie. The new lawyer is on the last stage of the procedure. And timely.
