This lady is clueless. Very rude and doesn't listen client needs. I will report her to the bar association!!!! She is very incompetent!!!

I hired this lawyer after having a previous attorney basically forget to file paperwork on my case and making a sexist, inappropriate remark about my body. I hired a female thinking she would understand my frustration. She REFUSED to present all the evidence I brought and pushed the case the way she wanted-which failed to mention a lot of the truth. She kept saying she couldn't say this or that-even though it was the facts- because so and so is friends with the judge and knows this and that lawyer. She billed me $4,000 to KEEP custody of my kids and basically did not get me what I needed- permission to leave the county to pursue a better career. She left me in a situation with NO job, where I had to use my savings to survive, she told me I was a "****" and the court would have no option but to consider me "snooty" because I had with me an expensive purse someone had given me as a gift. She failed to return calls frequently and told me she "did not give a****" about me.

Do not hire this Lawyer, I am having to file a complaint with the Bar Assoc. on her. She' is very rude will cuss you out, will cuss your family no matter what age is present, try to get you to settle for what she wants and not what you want, will not return calls, Bills excessively and your case will get nowhere. She also cancels court date after court date without even notifying you. If you are a male client do not!! I repeat do not hire her as a divorice Lawyer as she openly hates males and thinks every dad is a deadbeat dad. How she is allowed to practice is beyound me. The Bar needs to take a good hard look at this Woman.

I OBTAINED THE SERVICES OF MELODY PETTIT WHEN I HAD NO WHERE ELES TO TURN, MS. PETTIT IS A VERY COMPETENT ATTORNEY WITH LOTS OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT FAMILY LAW AND CHILD CUSTODY. SHE WAS THERE FOR ME FROM START TO FINISH SHE ANSERED ALL MY QUESTIONS TRUTHFULLY, RETURNED ALL MY PHONES CALLS IMEDIATELY AND ENCOURAGED ME WHEN I HAD DOUBTS ABOUT MY CASE. IN THE END I WON AND WAS AWARED CUSTODY OF MY LITTLE GIRL! MS. PETTIT IS AN AMAZING LAWYER AND PERSON WHOM I WOULD HIGLY RECOMMEND AND USE AGAIN IF THE NEED EVER ARISES. TINA FISK JEFFERSON COUNTY

I agree with the other raters here. Cannot get this lawyer to return a phone call, answer a queston etc... But she sure took our money. There are some really good and honest hard-working lawyers out there. She is just not one of them.

She only gets a score of 1 because there is no zero option. Melody Pettit is a terrible lawyer who just wants and succeeds in bleeding her client and respondant dry of money. Late to court and appointments, loud and argumentative, unreasonable, has a very bad reputation with judges and fellow attorneys. I think she is by far the worst representation one could get in Jefferson, Orange or hardin counties. I have personally seen that she has no understand of even the most simplistic divorce matters with retirements, house and car valuse, community vs. separate property, investments, child custody issues, etc. A totally incompentent lawyer and has the worste rating of lawyers on this list, TOTALLY BOTTOM OF THE SEPTIC TANK.

She is the most horrible Lawyer I have ever hired. She was just out to get my money. She talked to me like I was a dog. In court she was horrible she had no fight in her whatsoever. She was always late and never prepared. DO NOT RECCOMEND AT ALL!!!
