Our experience is pretty much the same as the first comment. He was a better sales person than an actual layer. Our first encounter was full of promises and positive feedback. He ask 600 upfront and a couple more 100s for the next meetings. After that he was too hard to contact, always leaving messages with assistant. Similar to other ratings he did not return call right away and seems annoyed to be bothered by questions. Highly unreliable and unprofessional. Uses terms like "they're on crack"and such. The worst was just before the final hearing, he did not even know how the intersection of the accident looked like. You would expect him to review the police report before briefing. He comes off very arrogant and condescending if you are not familiar with this type of matter. Im afraid that his lack of character matches his skills as a lawyer.

I had paid for Phil to fight my ticket. He said he would contact me before the court date to get some more information from me but he never did and he did not even attend my trial. I received a letter from the city saying I was convicted of the original offence. Basically I paid him $500 for absolutely nothing and there was no way for me to get my money back from him. I highly DO NOT recommend him. I could have used that $500 to go with someone more reputable

I contacted Philip Alexiu at Legal Action; while he seems knowledgeable, I did not feel confident with him. First, he did not stop talking. He said that "everything" would be taken care of but when I managed to get questions in, it turned out that I would be doing quite a bit of paperwork myself - because I had to be the one to sign & submit them (?). In the end, I decided to lose my deposit and find a different lawyer. He gave a high pressure sales pitch; using mild scare tactics (if I wanted to put my legal future in the hands of some unknown lawyer, then ok...) to emotional manipulation ("Remember, I know how this has affected you emotionally, but if really want to go to someone new I can't stop you."). I went with another lawyer who asked me questions and answered my questions. He handed me ALL the forms be be signed, already completed and literally took care of everything.

Phil was a great help! He helped me get through a very hard time in my life, and at the court house we were the first ones to go in and we were done within minutes.. Whenever I have a question to ask, he always responds the day of, if not the next day in the morning.

I hired him to fight my 2 tickets, he charged me about $800 CAD. First of all he was not returning my calls, until a day before my court date, I called his secretary and she told me he will have everything ready for tomorrow and I don’t have to see him to talk about my case. On the day of my court he sat with me for 15 minutes and told me how to describe the situation I was in, when I was in front of the judge, all the information he give me about my driving was incorrect. I asked him specific questions about my case which he had no idea on the day of my court. When I was in court he seemed to be way too friendly with the police officers who where there for my trial, which made me thinking is he there to fight for me or socialize with officers! I lost both of the tickets because of his poor knowledge and experience in law.
For anyone out there who is looking for a lawyer, I suggest it will be better if you present yourself then hiring Phil Alexiu.
