Kirsten Hughes was a fierce advocate for me yet again 4 years after the custody trial she won for me. She is a strategic and intelligent communicator with opposing counsel and she has the ear of the judges in the family court because she is eloquent and doesn't waste time. Kirsten knows how to present a case and the evidence in a way that is focused and comprehensible. She is an amazing professioanl and worth every cent she earned from this client. 10 years of winning for me is a pretty good record.

Kirsten Hughes is one of the most intelligent, strategic and ethical professionals I have ever worked with. She went way above my expectations in terms of her advocacy for me during a very contentious custody trial. Her law clerk is the best in the family business and if you're smart you will hire her and listen to her. Her track record is amazing and the negative reviews here are likely from people who didn't have good cases to proceed on in the first place and who likely didn't follow the advice offered to them. There is no one who cares more about her clients than Kirsten Hughes.

READ THE REVIEWS! Kirsten came on recommendation and despite reading the poor reviews on this site we still decided to retain her. OUR MISTAKE. We met with Kirsten & her Assistant, Anna. And just like the previous reviews state they both come off amazing, giving you the impression they're on your side and in your corner fighting for you. But after that first meeting our file was immediately handed over to Anna who in my opinion lacks the "fight" that is required in Family Court. Personally, experienced delays in correspondence not only to us as her clients but also to the other lawyer, phone calls not being returned, made to feel "dumb" with our questions, and not being represented by Kirsten in court. In a nutshell you'll eventually feel that you & your case are not important nor a priority. Do yourself a favour, take all these reviews under strong consideration before hiring her. After 6 months we fired her and retained a much better lawyer that actually listened & worked for us.

At first She seemd so nice and her assistant . Then wow her assay and was so rude that's not the worst of it .kristen did nothing for me she didn't even prepare for trial she wated till the last minute when my xs lawyer made a proposal then talked me into taking the deal . I lost everything . I hired another lawyer to fix all her mistakes . She did not protect me in any way and she gave me no suggestions on how I can protect myself . Don't be fooled by her or her assistant

Ms.Hughes acted on my behalf- she was unprofessional and unethical. She required a lengthy retainer agreement, explicit in its boundaries and rules, and yet did not honor her end in providing a detailed account of the trust (retainer) she was using, every thirty days as agreed upon by her own standard. I was never communicated with about the status of my case, upcoming court hearings and in fact never met her once. She seemed more concerned with obtaining more money than doing her job as my solicitor. Finally, after nine months I received my first invoice indicating I was not only in over-draft, but in order to continue to render her services, I would have to pay $5000/day upfront in order to proceed to the trial she was fully aware of months beforehand. I received this notification two weeks prior to the scheduled trial date. Kirsten seems to care only about the financial gain of her career vs. the social welfare aspect that I would assume is implied in becoming a family court lawyer.

She was my third lawyer and by far the worst along with her assistant. There was no communication, she would always send correspondence really late and at times has lost correspondence that she received from opposing lawyer. You're better off representing yourself than retaining her.

This is the worst lawyer ever! She doesnt do anything, no fight in her what so ever just takes your money and does whatever opposing counsel wants her to do! Get out from her fast before you go broke and get nothing in return!
