I was going through a nasty separation in 1999. Some one recommended Sean so I went to see him. He was straight up about the cost and that he didn't usually take cases like mine. I told him I would pay him as I needed a good lawyer. He took me on and I couldn't have been happier. Yes it was expensive but he got things I never expected. I did some of the work but it kept me focused. He doesn't pull punches and doesn't put up with crap. I told him I couldn't afford him any more. He had me in his office on a Sunday to prepare me for court, We never ended up in court thanks to Sean he settled it with my ex's lawyer. I found him honest and a hard worker. Now in 2017 it was time for a pension split and my husband tried to shaft me. I called Sean back and between Kathryn D'artois and Sean things went smooth. (He did a pro bono) It broke my heart to see Sean retire and I cried. I don't think I will ever find a lawyer like Sean. The best lawyer in Ottawa.

This guy has no morals and no ethics.. I am surprised he still has clients. When the judge made an ambiguous order instead asking he judge's chambers for clarification this con artist Sean Jones brought three motions (the first two were adjourned because he was not prepared)...a simple letter could have been faxed to the judge but instead he made this single mother pay $17,000 for three motions....I pray that he burn in hell

This lawyer is to be avoided at all costs, I have been accused of murder of my child (phony drowning allegation) we are still in 3 years with no resoloution in site. Don't ever let this clown entertain the idea of an arbitration agreement. I got sucked into this and I paid a very high price. He is tricky, and he lies with certain arbitrators (Kathryn D'artois)If you get stuck in this situation you are going to lose because they have a monopoly. The whole firm as a whole should be avoided because they don't play fair game nor do they hone any ethics whatsoever you might even find one of their partners writing affidavits for their case (happened to me). Anyone that wants to know more about this child abusing representative just ask me. I too will soon have my complaints into the LSUC. If enough of us do this, before he retires (which can't come soon enough) than family law as a whole will be served well.

I was warned about Sean. I was warned that I had to do a lot of the background work and to be prepared for brutally honest facts. What I got was considerable phone time BEFORE I started to pay. His assessment was that "I'm paying for life, and child support was unquestionable", and his expectations were that "we will always take the high road" to ensure we looked favorable in court, should we have to go so far (and we did). Once the meter was running, Sean deflected as much work my way as possible, keeping the costs down and keeping me in the loop on what was happening. Despite his advising me that furniture was an emotional issue, and therefore of no value, I still pursued the issue, learning the hard way that Sean was right. In the end I got exactly what I was looking for, and I highly recommend Sean.

If youi want your EX to HATE you more Sean is the Man.He loves to create conflict and and Loves clients who want to see (and spend ) while he creates it . He redefines the meaning of Law by twisting and turning facts to escalate a file's expense.

Sean is my lawyer. He is very good and knows more about the subject than anyone posting here myself included. If you want someone to be sympathetic go see a counselor or your Mom and don't expect a divorce lawyer to coddle you. Grow up. Yes he is very direct, swears a fair amount and loves his dogs. Don’t judge him because he hurts your feelings. Would you rather Sean tell you that your complaints or issues with your ex are unfounded and a waste of his time or would you like a nice sweet lawyer to drag out 50K in court fees only to have the judge tell you “your complaints or issues with your ex are unfounded and a waste of his time”.

A waste of time. A waste of money and a rip off. He is rude and arrogant. He will not answer your questions. He will brag about making $7 a minute off you. He will waste time telling you about useless anecdotes all the while not solving your problem. A real bottom feeder. Not compassionate and not useful. I would not recommend him to anyone and even if he is your last chance don't trust him.

He is rude and self serving. Don't go to him even if he is your last chance. He will not accomplish anything and will brag about charging you $7 a minute. This guy is under the impression he has a reputation, but I did not get any results. I agree with the last review, STAY AWAY from him. He may have been a good lawyer but he is under so much pain medication that he can't focus. He will forget about your case and will only concentrate on making money off you. He actually panicked when he thought a judge would turn a motion into a settlement conference. He is cold hearted and unsympathetic to solving problems. He will only make your situation worse.

Need to 'win', Sean's the guy. Maybe he doesn't win always but I've used him for 11 years and with compromise, always succeeded in what was best for all. If you want to deal with emotions, talk to a friend. Want to deal with the law, talk to Sean.

I have seen Sean in action but have been fortunate enough not to have to use his services. To the point and will get the job done.
