Working with her was 10 times more stressful than the layoff itself emotionally and financially.
I was billed ~7k for only 2 rounds of negotiation with my employer and gained only 5 extra weeks of severance. She often missed promised deadlines, repeatedly called without scheduling and insisted on phone calls even when I clearly preferred email for cost control and clarity, where much of our call time was spent repeating things.
She advised me to accept an offer that was only slightly better than the original, then later denied giving that advice. That kind of inconsistency added a lot of emotional strain.
I asked her not to focus on things I found irrelevant(like requesting a reference letter), but she continued to spend time and bill on them. I also noticed some billing inconsistencies, and when I questioned them, she became defensive rather than clarifying.
It felt like she was playing mind games with me instead of helping me stay grounded during an already vulnerable time.

Carol excels at her work. She engages clients in a systematic and welcoming manner and helps to ease the anxiety associated with legal issues.
