Horrible family lawyer, just took my partner's money and never replied to emails or provided legal advice or direction. He actually pawned the file off on a very junior staff member who had no clue what she was doing. Cost us a fortune and we got nowhere fast!

Mr.Carhmichael and his staff have helped me through some very challenging times when it came to dealing with the family matters I have faced. Their vast knowledge and experience helped me to understand my rights and I felt at ease with their direction. It was difficult at times to hear the feedback and suggestions given but I trusted they had my best interests at mind and heart! Terrible, just a terrible law firm. They don't give any useful suggestion. Their unprofessionalism will delay your case for years but end up with getting nothing. The ONLY thing they are active to do is to keep sending you bills. Divorce is already hard enough, don't let them make it harder and ruin your life. Again,STAY AWAY.

I retained Barry over two years ago and my matter has now completed. I walked into his office scared of the unknown. Barry gave me the confidence to move forward and protect myself. Barry and Melissa Crowley did a great job with my family law case. I sincerely telling the truth that they were amazing.Don't waste your time and money with anyone else. He will tell you up front and honestly what your financial commitment will be and he will do his best to save you time and money. He and his team were always available and communication was easy. We won in court due to being common law paid very little spousal and got 50 50 custody and all debt was split accordingly. I would not recommend Barry in family law cases, he is very slow, overbooked, and uncaring towards any urgency. His staff are very sloppy and do not keep proper records on file, loosing most paperwork they have sent to the other party. You have to ask his staff for updates as they do not call or email you when anything happens, costs you to check in when they should be telling you. Barry makes his own decisions on what he believes you should do, and hinders the clients interests. Overall the firm has a no care attitude.

Barry and his team did a great job taking over my family law case. I sincerely wish that I had chosen Barry Carmichael to represent me from the beginning. Don't waste your time and money with anyone else. He will tell you up front and honestly what your financial commitment will be and he will do his best to save you time and money. The other party was an extremely emotionally unstable person and Barry and his team did a great job of staying focused on the actual facts.

I was not impressed with Carmichael or his staff. When it came time for court Carmichael promised many of things and and the applicant ended up winning everything. This lasted over 2 years. What a waste of time and money. The staff are unprofessional and not organized. Carmichael has too many clients and won't have the time for your case. He may have been around for a long time, but he won't help. The majority of the reviews written on here are done by the staff that work for Carmichael. Don't be fooled!

I found Barry on the internet, he has helped my spouse and i emensley with on going concerns, he gets to the matter solves the issues and puts you first! He made my spouse feel releived ,I would reccomend Barry to anyone,he is time costly efficient and knows his job 100% You will feel very confident with him by your side. Spent an hour of my time and money providing background on my case and when it came time to move forward with next steps, he informed me that he would be off on vacation for a month and couldn't help me any further. Had to start over with a new lawyer.

I have dealt with Barry numerous times for close to 9 years with family law / custody issues/ cohabitation agreement and my will. He is one of the most understanding, sincere, compassionate men I know. He is honest and patient - He will tell you realistically in his opinion what the outcome may be so that you are able to make appropriate decisions. He does not drag out proceedings - which I and my pocket book appreciated. Prior to retaining him I had a lawyer from Toronto who cost alot of money and was unable to resolve issues. I HIGHLY recommend Barry Carmichael to anyone who needs an excellent knowledgable lawyer who is a genuine good person.
