Horrible lawyer that keeps the door to his offices locked, that should tell you everything you need to know, only shady businesses do that. He ruined my case, lost me a chance at fair compensation, and lied constantly and went back on everything he promised. He is a liar, period. He even lied to the opposing counsel, judge and law society. Thank goodness, he's now been disbarred.

Alberta Law Society Latest Findings: Paragraph #52 of Page 9 states: Overall, Mr. Virk states that he was suffering from a mental condition that led him to impulsive acts. Two doctors' reports were provided in this regard. Mr. Virk also states that he had over the course of a number of years many, many sexual partners, other than his wife. I can’t express enough how impressed I was with Nav. I had a very high conflict custody dispute over a young daughter who most had said I’d never get custody for. I explained to Nav that I’m a good father and I deserved as much time as was possible. He explained to me that he was a good lawyer and as long as I was honest with him I’d get my time. His confidence spoke for itself so where some are saying he’s overconfident I will tell you he has every right to be confident. When walk walked into trial he was prepared for everything. He didn’t stutter or miss a beat, I was absolutely amazed at the things he had prepared that had never crossed my mind. I see he has some poor reviews which I had read before hiring. I have never written a review for anything or anyone in my life, so that being said I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nav to anyone who is looking for a family lawyer. He went above and beyond for me and my daughter. He’s solid from start to finish. Colby Walker

When we came to Nav with our problem I was very concerned and it felt like it was all I could think about. Nav took the time to explain our options to us and kept us in the loop every step of the way. He got us a solution that worked when other lawyers couldn't and I highly recommend him to anyone.

This lawyer is an absolute piece of work . When I went to see him me and my ex where in almost total agreement on terms of our divorce we just had to make it legal . But this guy has his own agenda and really doesn’t care about what you and your family thinks . The money amount he quoted me in the beginning came in 3 times higher that we discussed. Due to him and his actions my ex won’t even look at me never mind talk to me . He’s all warm and inviting at first but then he will flip the switch and do things his way . He reminds me of a guy who got bullied in school and is now mad at the world and out for revenge !! Not to mention I was so upset to find out later Navdeep ( Nav ) Virk has litterly the worst reputation and his peers in the Alberta family law world . Know I see why !! Don’t make the same mistake I did and hire this DB .

Stay FAR away from this lawyer; I hired him in May 2015. NOTHING was done on my file until I asked for a refund of my retainer in January 2016. After a deposition in April 2016 i did not hear from Nav until late summer, at which time he scheduled a telephone conference with me in September 2016, during the 2 minute phone conversation he said he would email options for settlement to me and despite numerous phone calls to his office, emails and messages; he has never returned my calls. I have NEVER heard from him since Sept 2016. I wish I would have seen these reviews prior to hiring Nav Virk as my lawyer.

Worst lawyer ever! Did not return any of my phone calls did not meet me before our court appearance even tho I showed up an hour and a half early just to try to speak with him. After our court process still without saying a word to me turns to my ex and told him he did an amazing job representing himself. Terrible communication skills. I already am in the process of changing my lawyer but I need to appeal the case and I only have a small window. Also he never mentioned my ex having a criminal record or the fact he frauded the goverment 22,000$. When I took the stand he proceeded to ask me all the same questions my ex asked. Since when does a vehicle have so much importance in a family matter when there is buses cabs and I have friends who drive me. Worst experience I've ever had and my first going to trail. I will never use him again! Steer clear of this lawyer he will not help you what so ever!

I agree - WORST LAWYER EVER! can't believe this guy still has a practice. He is extremely arrogant and does not communicate. He ignores calls and emails. When he does respond it's a one-word or evasive response. Stay away from this guy. Worst decision was contacting this guy to represent me. 2 years + and still no divorce. I wish I could walk away and get a new lawyer but I've already paid him so much to do nothing really.

My experience with Dianne (Nav's assistant) and Navdeep Virk (lawyer) himself has been absolutely horrendous to say the least. They dropped the ball numerous times, failed to communicate with me appropriately, and the quality of work was extremely poor. I will not be using this law firm for anything ever again and I certainly will be recommending others to avoid Virk Law at all costs.

The Worst Lawyer Ever. There is no communication, extremely hard to get hold of him, 99% of the time he is not in office, calls go to Secretary whose job is to fake apologise. He takes ages to reply to emails. Make false promises. Promises to file things and in the end you find out he has not done so. Other lawyers are extremely rude as long as you are not their client. I regret the day I called VirkLaw. Avoid at ll costs.

Ode to Nav. Just win Just win is what I do say, no ethics or morals shall win the day. Its family court perjury wont matter, Just give me your money and I'll get at er. The lies I'll write up the affidavit you sign, dont worry about a thing it will all be fine. We will trash on her while you cower in the back, its family law we don't have to retract. Your quintessential scumbag stereotypical douche, just sit there and watch and ferme le bouche. Just win just win is my cry, just win just win with fabricated lies. I don't know where we would be without Nav. While his communication can leave a bit to be desired, the man is tenacious and aggressive when needed. He did exactly what was needed to get what we were looking for.

I got separation and divorce with him. I am very very very thankful about his job. I am recommending in this moment to one of my friends who is ready to separate and divorce. He treat me in a professional manner, and mediated very good the aggressiveness of my ex husband, and read very carefully the agreement to me. (I have English as a second language and I don't know many law terms) Besides he has a great personality because makes eyes contact and shake hand firmly.

Mr. Virk was able to help me get shared parenting of my daughter after 7 years of me trying on my own. He was able to quickly identify what my most compelling argument was in order to win shared parenting. He or his assistant, Dianne, address my requests and questions promptly. He represents me very well in court and is very knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone having a difficult time with an ex. Mr. Virk has also never missed a meeting with me when I've requested one. He uses the information that I provide to him effectively and efficiently to help my case and is able to wrap it up into a nice argument in court.

Worst Lawyer in Edmonton,if it wasnt for his two wonderful assistants nothing would get done. I would not recommend him to anyone. He lies, cheats and steals money. I had nothing but bad experiences with him. I have filed complaints with the law society and hope to have him barred. His assistants are even quitting due to his bad work ethic. Do NOT hire this lawyer

I should file a grievance why has he not lost his bar yet???? A good lawsuit against him might wake him up. His office staff cover his ass very well...how they work for him I have no idea...shitty lawyer!

Nav is the worst lawyer we have ever dealt with! He is full of his "just win" attitude when you hire him...then he ignores you! We didn't hear from him for months..even after sending him numerous emails and phone calls asking him for updates! Several Meetings were booked with him and then he cancelled while we were waiting at his office to see him! He makes many mistakes and causes delays due to his lack of knowledge or due to his incompetence. Has no empathy or compassion for the effect this has on his clients...he's only in it for the money.

This lawyer completley messed up my case. Will not contact you back, will not show any emapathy or compassion to your situation. Once he gets paid he puts your file on the back burner and does not care about the personal strife you will endure due to his lack of competency. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. Virk law just win my ass!!

Although things ended up costing more than originally expected he was very good. Always cc'd me on emails to the opposing lawyer and kept me up to date on my file. Very aggressive towards opposing council which is what you want.

Wish I would have found this site before hiring Nav. Now a year and a half later nothing really has been done. His refusal to answer emails or calls, his errors on my file, lack of filing etc has caused more stress than the divorce. I find myself still not divorced, credit rating wrecked as he did nothing to stop the ex from racking up debt, lost all belongings because Nav would not stop her, liens on the house illegaly done and Nav did nothing. So now I start over with a new lawyer hoping he can repair the damage Nav has done. Do not hire him, he talks big but its all talk!

I was a client for almost a year trying to get through a separation and I had to find a new lawyer because he had done next to nothing for me. We made multiple arrangements to meet and go over my file in person...but he would always find a way to get out of us meeting. I do not recommend him to anyone!

He says things in face to face meetings and you think you understand and that he is commited to it and then you find out it's exactly the opposit. I do not recommend him or the firm, find someone with half the communication skills this guy has and you will be 10 times better off!

This lawyer makes me sick. Goes on holidays, and waits months before replying to his clients. He has screwed me out of 6000 dollars. He is the worst lawyer I have ever met. I am disgusted by the thought that I ever hired him. He lies, betrays, and promises everything with nothing in return. People be smart and find someone worth your time. I highly advise not making the same mistake I did.

Nav Virk told me I was divorced so I planned my upcoming wedding only to find out in a year and a half he had never filed a document in court for me & I was listed as not having a lawyer. I did not agree to some documents the other side sent over. Nav stated we would not agree to them only for me to recieve court papers stating he had agreed to it on my behalf without my approval. He convinced me it was better to let my ex have most of the custody & for me not to fight. Now it has been almost 2 years since I have seen my daughter because I can not legally force my own children to see me. I have probably only seen my son 8 times. I would not hear from Nav months at a time and my new lawyer made me aware that I could have lost everything because Nav had me in default as no papers on my behalf were ever filed. I would also only hear from his secretary, never him. I beg everyone out there to NEVER use Nav. Nothing will get done leaving you broke, in limbo years later and devestated.
