Absolute waste of time and $10,000! He gave us a great song & dance about how he could help us when we met him in person for the free consult then had some student call me with a completely different plan of action. When I got angry and insisted I could do that myself, what was I paying for - I then had to explain to this student what Dioguardi had told me himself we needed to do. What ended up happening? I sent them a detailed account of the timelines of my case - they submitted exactly that with absolutely no changes or additions to CRA and I ended up paying everything. Long story short - liar, cheat, took my money and did nothing I couldn't do on my own. Absolute scam artist! Should be disbarred! Save yourself, your frustration and money! RUN!!!

Paid this clown $7500 to "deal with the taxman." They did NOTHING for almost two years. When I raised holy he'll, suddenly the returns were filed. Long story short, I could have ignored CRA for two additional years and then filed all by myself without it costing me thousands extra. In the end, they did nothing but delay the inevitable and make the final bill from the Government worse because of addition penalties and interest accrued while they twiddle thier thumbs. Frankly, you'd be better just going to see an accountant. This team of "lawyers" is far beyond useless. I also forgot to mention that they were under investigation by the CRA during this time and they said.nothing. I had to find out from the newspaper. This guy is the Lionel Hutz of tax attorneys. Avoid at all costs.

My girlfriend Phoned this outfit for help and talk about picky. Not only insisted on seeing me in person, had too many questions! Moved on and googled a lawyer that you hire quickly on the phone and does what I want AND gave me a free consultation, really its on the net.

I'm sorry but all the negative comments have detailed explanations whereas the positive comments all say the same thing with no real substance. As someone who is looking for factual answers I would be more swayed by the negative comments than the positive ones. I can only hope that the positive reviews are legitimate and not given by Mr. Dioguardi himself or his employee's, but I truthfuly have my doubts.

Wanted $$ for a tax consultation to prove privacy or something. He was firm on this. Didn't make sense to pay for advice I can find free on the internet. Anyways, found many free lawyers on the net after that.. still don't get it though.

Have called this law firm multiple times as they seem to be good at advertising their services but no return phone calls or emails. I have moved on to someone who will respond. If you cannot communicate with clients, then you should not be in the business of helping the general public with tax problems.

My wife contacted these people for help Paid $140 for appointment. Man talked bafflegab for ten minutes, then said we could not afford their rates and left the room. So much for their adds about helping the tax-payer.

I looked around on the internet to find various tax lawyers in Toronto and I came across a few. Mr DioGuardi's team and Philippe DioGuardi turned out to be a good fit for my situation with back taxes and a possible audit coming my way. Glad Mr. DioGuardi was able to help and his initial fee for the consult was fair as was the invoice for services. However I do believe that with my results, no other tax law firm could do the same thing. Thank you again DioGuardi as you have helped a 61 year old breathe easier at night and saved me some anguish at home. I appreciate it.

I made some mistakes with my taxes in the past that put me in some difficult situations. Thankfully I was refereed to Dioguardi. They provided me with quality information that was easy to understand and were able to help me out of my situation. I am not sure where the negative reviews are coming from but I had a great experience working with them, bearing in mind it took a bit to solve the issues that i created.

Total rip off. After paying over $10,000.00 to 'deal' with the tax man we ended up paying all of our taxes owing(which we expected) but we also had to pay all penalties and interest! ALL PENALTIES AND ALL INTEREST! We were told that they deal with the CRA every day and that they could at the very least reduce the penalties and interest payments. Dioguardi and his whole 'TEAM' did absolutly nothing! They talked a good game and sold us a false bill of goods. We would have been better off just paying the government and we would have had over $10,000.00 left in our pockets. Deal with the tax man yourself as they are more flexible than you would think. Dioguardi plays off of peoples fear and takes your hard earned money for minimal work. For $10,000.00 you can do much better without falling to this type of intimidation tatics to take your money. They keep sending bills until you push back. I just hope what goes around comes around as you can't treat people this way and live well. STAY AWAY!

I just finished a situation with Dioguardi (Phillip and this team) and had a great end result happen. Like other reviews, it has saved me money to use them. I did read all the reviews below including the negative reviews however from what I just came from, my personal experience, and my situation, I would highly recommend to use Dioguardi, as they did what they said they would do and did it professionally (while keeping my dignity intact). They helped me get out of the spot I was in with the CRA, including 1 year of back taxes and high interest.

Being in business for myself, and supporting a smaller work staff, I found that I got a bit lacks on my taxes and fell behind. Catching up has been a good learning lesson and the Dioguardi firm and Philippe were able to help me alot! Philippe was excellent and was able to help me bring me up to date and deal with the CRA, which before Dioguardi, I was expecting the worst. Now I am able to breathe easier. I would recommend Philippe and his team if you want a Lawyer/team to fight in your corner for you.

I was behind on my GST for my company and the best advice I got from another lawyer was to make a payment plan or go bankrupt.
This guy was the only one who told me he could fix it so I didn't have to close down. They absolutely saved my company and the 8 guys who work for me. I was able to continue with a $2M contract to install windows at a condo development and stay in business. Saved my business, my marriage and my life. As far as I'm concerned, worth every penny

This tax lawyer helped me get out of big trouble. I needed someone to protect my bank account from the tax guys and get me some time to pay.
Took me more than a year but I just made the last tax payment. DioGuardi did their job. They kept Revenue Canada out of my life. Can’t thank them enough.

I saw this lawyer on his ads. seemed to be a leader so I called. I got a consultation a couple of days later and was convinced the firm could help me. They stopped CRA from harrassing me. Relief! now waiting to see if they get interest cancelled. So far so good.

As some of the other comments, I was asked for a 10,000.00 fee in the first 30 minutes. My first impression of Phillipe DioGuardi was that of a show off, and a blow hard. I thought that those were the qualities neccessary in a tax lawyer.Boy was I wrong! First of all no one returns a call. I'm serious, not just late returning calls,..never returning calls! After an asscoiate of mine posted a complaint on DioGuardi for the same issues as I was going through, he received a phone call within 10 minutes. I'm sure they don't even respond to that anymore. The last communication was by his "Phillipness" himself,in a fax sent from his underlings email essentilly regurgitating the same information I had discussed monthes before with my agent. He told me some agent would be contacting me re: my file. Never happened. This has been a total disaster. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to this firm. Entrusted to assist you with your tax matters, they become your biggest obstruction. Stay Away!!

Terrible!! I went to DioGaurdi in a panic to catch up on years of taxes and HST I fell behind on. I paid $200 for the consultation and then $4350 for their services to start. There would also be a $950 charge for the accounting as well. I signed and surrendered all my documents for them to start. Months passed and they would not return my phone calls when all I wanted was a status. When someone finally called me back he asked me the same basic questions such as "What do you do" "How many clients do you have" which is all on my file. I asked where they are with my file, and it turns out that they have not touched it in 2 and a half months! He said they are "back logged" He promised to call me back the following week to let me know when things would get rolling. Of course, he didn't so I showed up one morning and demanded my file and my money back in full. They returned everything with no problems. He did ask for one more chance to get it done. Now I'm in a worst position!

RevCan sent a letter demanding $16k - it really scared me...I called Dioguardi & they charged my VISA $150 in advance for an initial "consultation". He didn't show up, even though I called that morning to confirm the meeting...when I walked into the office, the secretary said to me "Oh, he thought the meeting was in Mississauga". He rents a room in an office downtown on University Ave...it was all very skectchy. Then, out of the shadows emerged a rumpled guy in casual street clothes who claimed to "handle publicity for Mr Dioguardi" who proceeded to get him on the phone...the conversation, on speakerphone, was essentially an opportunity for "Mr Dioguardi" to find out how much money I had access to & to close the deal by saying he needed "an $8000 payment to begin working" & that there could be "many more costs", then bragged how he used to kick ass in Quebec. It felt like a shakedown. Later, I was referred to a great entertainment biz accountant & only paid $1600...avoid "Mr Dioguardi"

I had just a consultation. I paid $200. He spend 5 min with me. Told me that I'm all over the place and he didn't answer my questions, which was very general. He sends a CA. Nice man, but I did not get not much info as well. He told me that I have to pay 5000+HST, with not much resolution as well.

Worst firm ever!
My father had a tax problem not too long ago, they asked for a $10,000 retainer upfront to do work (ridiculous!) and ended up withholding original tax documents because my dad wanted another firm to file his personal income taxes. Not only did he complain to Mr. Dioguardi himself, but after the accountant got in trouble for withholding our files, the accountant started ignoring my dad’s calls and to this day they still have my father’s tax files. I would not recommend this firm in any way, they are truly lucky my father did not sue them or make a complaint to the law society. I recommend going somewhere else.
