Was directed to use Jurgen to complete and file a settled divorce settlement. His wording in the final agreement exposed me to ALL my ex's legal fees. Made no sense to me. He then forgot to forward me an email from ex's lawyer, missed the dead line to reply and was then served notice to pay the ex's legal fees. Wasn't worried since this totally Jurgen's fault. He accepted zero responsiblity and could NOT fix this with other lawyer. I called the Law Society to review my options> Jurgen response was to fire me. Law Society to make it all go away, at their cost. Total and complete incompetence. Stay far far away!

He is expensive and doesn't do what he says he is going to. He's terrible at communication. Several voice mails, and emails left with no response. I am in with him over $3000 and I still don't have a divorce (everything was agreed and it was an easy case)

Horrible experience. I had to eventually let him go. He charged me for my initial free 1 hour consultation months after I retained him. He also charged me for attending a case conference when he cam as a "friend" courts after I had let him go. He didn't give me any advice when the judge was asking if he would like to advise me but he SURE took payment for his 30 mins he was there. He charged me for 1 hour! He knew nothing about my case and was siding with opposing counsel. He also billed for hours of text and email and phone calls with opposing counsel? Yet no feedback given. Within 2 months he blew threw over 3000.00 of my retainer and did NOTHING to earn it. If you like giving someone a free ride on your dime - He is your guy.

Having no response to voicemails, I resorted to speaking with his secretary to relay messages. I would recommend his clients view each invoice from him very carefully, as he charged me his hourly rate for each call I made to her.

My two sons were taken from Canada by their other parent on what was agreed to be a brief round-trip visit to that person's South American birth country, Argentina. Our dual-national sons have never been allowed to return to Canada. I am grateful to this lawyer for telling me the way things are in the complex world of international divorce, child custody and child abduction cases, without sugar coating it, after having been given false hopes and promises by lawyers in Argentina for whom this abuse of human rights appears to be a lucrative mass industry. Value for money, direct, to the point, no complaints here. He was helpful in advising me on my Hague Convention application, negotiating strategy and the pros and cons of various tactics as one would expect competent and relatively fair justice systems (Canada) would respond versus "justice" systems in countries with higher UN and Human Rights Watch corruption indicators.

I would say that my experience with this lawyer was very good. He was very knowledgeable about the issues impacting families going through divorce. He was very honest about what my options were and always acted in the best interest of me and my kids. He worked diligently to resolve the issues that were before us and he was efficient and courteous at the same time. I was able to get in touch with him easily and he was great about returning my calls. He helped us reach a settlement that we could both live with and he was affordable. I have recommended him to several of my family and friend and they have all been pleased with his work.

Hard to match some of the comments here with the experience I've had with this lawyer. His advice is excellent. Takes time to suggest ways to work things out and avoid court. But when left with no choice, successful in court. A bit expensive and hard to get a hold of at times. BUt you get what to pay for.

This rating is as low as it gets! He spends more time on your invoice then he does on communication and working on your file . Was up last night thinking about his work ethics or lack of , and after reading this have decided to call the Law society for advice .

Took on litigation work that deals mostly with contract law when his practice I now know is mostly family practice. Was a robber baron when it comes to legal fees for poor work. Made excuses for poor communication and felt to need to take responsibily for his failures.

I had a very positive experience. He is knowledgable and worked out a settlement in my kids' best interests. He truly understands the issues that people face who are going through divorce. He gave me good advice and explained everything clearly. He also was good at returning my calls. I would definately recommend him to my freinds and family.

Arrogant, overcharges, had my sold from underneath me without knowledge, was threatening to me and loved to hear himself talk.

Terrible! My first (and last) meeting with him was 1 hour long but he charged me for 2. He kept me waiting for 30 minutes. Arrogant! He wasn't asking me questions, he was making a speech to hear himself blather on. He leered at me and treated my meeting like a lunch break... he carried in a measuring cup of cereal. I can't say enough against this guy.
