I fired two lawyers before someone recommended Brian to me. Brian told me the absolute truth from day one. I would not have an easy time proving to this judge that my child’s father is extremely dangerous. Brian is owed far more than what he cost as he saved my child’s life. He is not only a highly intuitive lawyer but a caring, honourable human being. He served as an Angel in our lives. He has extensive experience with CAS which we watched failed by child. When I thought there was no one who could possibly understand the depths that deception in child protection, there were several excellent police officers & Brian Hall who rallied for my daughter’s protection. He represented my son's girlfriend in a case and was atrocious. He charges $400 an hr yet is unresponsive to emails and phone calls and delays acting quickly costing thousands and thousands of dollars. He also does not respond to opposing counsel thus delaying processes. He give the impression he cares little about a client except the paycheque. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for a lawyer that care and communicates in a timely manner.

My wife came to you for help. you did nothing. she filled out and filed all the work her self. you would never stay in contact with her. she would have to hound you for 2 weeks. e mail and phone. all you would say "I will look into it, and sent more money". the other party did nothing but submit lies and you had the proof to help her. you did not. my wife spend 3 solid days filing paperwork and what she needed. you didnt even use half of it. I hope you feel ashamed of your self brian. your lack of intrest tore a family apart. how can you sleep at night. you should grow a soal and pay her back the thousands of dollars she has gave you

It’s true to say Brian Hall is very knowledgeable and seems to be a good person and I truly don’t believe he actually did what his LSUC discipline record states since he’s a gentleman (I believe he was set up to take the fall by another Oshawa lawyer) my issue was that Brian told me “They’re going to out-spend you” and stopped dealing with critical paperwork that came into the office. Then when I terminated him I found key documents had vanished out of my file. And yes, they were documents I paid for and was entitled to receive. They were critical to my case and this quite literally sabotaged my progress when my case had moved out of Durham Region. I was given a $7,000 fee deduction by the firm but their errors cost me YEARS of lost visits with my two young children. If you deal with Brian then please regularly check that necessary forms are filed on time. I handed in retainer cheques promptly but my case wasn’t a priority. I think it was mainly Mary the clerk who disliked me.

I found Brian to be a compassionate and experienced lawyer who fights for the best interests of the child. Rating sites such as these are often frequented by clients who feel let down by our family court system, they were not let down by their lawyer. When things don't go your way, that isn't always the lawyers fault. Clients often do not understand that they are not their lawyer's only client and that lawyers like Brian are doing their very best to help any number of clients at the same time in limited time frames. A Family Lawyer can be much like an Urgent Care Clinic, where the most emergent cases require the lawyer's attention first. That being said, Brian never makes your issue seem small or unimportant and will always serve you with honesty and respect, regardless of your story or circumstances. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

My case should have never took as long as it it did! If it did my outcome would have been different! He sits on his cases until it's to late to do anything! My case was probably out of his league-wish he would have been honest about it so I could have gotten a lawyer with the knowledge they needed! I heard from him once a year on my case--and then he calls and says nothing he can do(previous judge over ruled the current order)-why because he waited to long to fight for my case! Just becareful who you pick for a lawyer and there knowledge and hound them!! Your case deserves the commitment and Brain hall doesn't commit to all his cases not equally anyway!! Im frustrated with our legal system in general and think Judges should work together but in Ontario they work separate and over rule each other-it's sad! If you do go with Brain hall id suggest calling him weekly, monthly to make sure he knows your still there and not letting him dance a good dance!

We used Brian Hall for a DCAS case. He talked a good talk but when it came to delivering was a points short. He encouraged his client to sign over custody of her youngest to the father's parents, stating time and time again, she was a young mom and the courts frowned upon it. Needless to say, because the mom was young, and had some problems, he dropped her as a client. Which resulted in her being unable to obtain another lawyer and loosing the case. She did sign custody of the youngest to the grandparents, and now their daughter (the child's aunt) is a secretary for Brain Hall, and is demanding that the mother come to Brain Hall's office to sign papers as he is going to sign for them. Slightly, suspicious and highly unethical.

This Lawyer talks a good story but hardly delivers same. He can drag stuff out to the full extent to make the opposing party frustrated however all the while happily raking up your bill. In 2010 he was suspended by the Law Society from practicing Law for 28 days and fined over $4,000.00 for engaging in professional misconduct but was billed for work performed during this time frame.. He also provided advise that in hindsight just prolonged a resolution. If your Family matters are simple and you need someone to do processing for you he is the guy you want but be warned that you must be careful of his recommendations because sometimes these are made only to benefit his billing... Know what you want and stay on task as a customer.

lack of return calls from secretary mary returns call maybe 1 out of 6 calls you day of court forgets to let you know in advance.Lawyer quits if you owe 700 just before a court appearance keeps all your info and you are on your own leaving you stranded never fought in court for your rights but good at note taking that's it will never recommend to anyone takes your money and runs never gives reciets for payments
