I was facing serious accusations.
In the search of an experienced defence counsel I interviewed a few lawyers. I came to Ron Ellis’s office in London, and from the outset I realized that Ron was a very well-versed lawyer and a loquacious person - two indispensable qualities I was looking for in a good lawyer. He was also very energetic and professional.
Even though I saw that at that time Ron was not familiar with the type of offence I was charged with, I relied on his overall experience, and I was rewarded for my trust. He was ready to discuss my matter in details by our next meeting.
The first time I had a pleasure of seeing Ron in court was during preliminary hearing, and the results surpassed my expectations.
A small disagreement about the fees that arose shortly after the hearing was resolved, and we moved on with the case.
Over the course of our collaboration Ron provided several strategic initiatives that proved to be quite successful.

Very kind (to the point you sometimes wonder if he's really on your side if you have a bad charge - he is on your side but from the client's point of view we are sometimes left wondering). He does forget information at times either as a result of miscommunication or just normal forgetfulness. For example he stated he would fix something in a PSR but then came back the next month and nothing changed. This normal forgetfulness is expected with his job (I experience it myself) but this was an extremely costly and frustrating experience for the client. But he does not charge as much as other lawyers and has exceptional time management skills as well as knowledge

He's a great lawyer, has a very strategic and calculated approach is professional and down to earth. His staff are amazing too, great people to work with when you are going through a hard time. In jail or out call him.

Ron is amazing. Very personable, very attentive, and very knowledgeable. I called him late at night because I couldn't sleep given my circumstances - I was put right at ease, slept well and was able to meet with him the very next day to discuss matters further.
