she attempted to bill me for work that I did not agree. there was no contract, no legal bindings. she came up with fees that she might have spent time on, but were not agreed with me. that type of behavior should disqualify her from the profession.

Karla Policelli at CCY is by far the best family lawyer I have ever worked with. Karla has patiently, professionally and thoughtfully guided me through a complicated family law matter, and has consistently gone above and beyond in her timely responses to my many questions, and in her support in preparing for our court case. Karla is fighting very hard to bring my matter to resolution, while frequently advising me what can be done to keep my costs to a minimum. I can't say enough about how quickly and expertly Karla understands and advises on the best path forward, how hard she has worked to support my case, and how professional her approach has been. I felt completely comfortable in our recent settlement hearing, as Karla clearly, concisely and fearlessly argued my case and worked towards a settlement. I would feel equally confident had the case proceeded to a hearing. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for top-quality family law legal representation.

I have hired Maitre Karla Policelli for my divorce. She was trying to scare my ex-wife's lawyer instead of actually fighting for me and for a reasonable deal. I'm glad I don't have kids because I feel she would be even worse. She works for Agb Lawyers which I heard good things, but she definitely should not represent them because her value is not what Agb is renowned for. Her rate is very high too (even compared to similar divorce lawyers in the area). I feel scammed.

I hired Karla to handle my divorce. It was a simple situation. Her involvement resulted in my case becoming high conflict and complex despite her collaborative status at the time. She also took months to respond to me, claiming she was on parental leave. She ended up with most of my money, instead of my kids. It's too bad, considering she advertised herself as a collaborative lawyer and mediator for vulnerable families. I would never recommend her to anyone.

Karla takes months to respond, does not keep her word and is very unprofessional. She likes high conflict cases, and escalates them as much as she can to increase conflict and increase the bill for her clients and other law firms. In the end she wins....and kids and their families lose. I would never recommend her to anyone.

Complete agreement with the reviews from 6/10/11, 12/20/14 and 4/14/20. It's been a long, challenging, damnably frustrating campaign for over ten years through two court appearances, an at-the-courtroom-doors settlement for a third, a successful quantum review, and more. Karla has been terrific throughout. She doesn't control the inconsistent, often capricious legal system but absolutely knows how it works. She does her homework, tells you the odds, presents you with options if they exist, and is unflappable in court. She is *always* well prepared. Thankfully, Karla is not one of those take-no-prisoners lawyers but is reasonable, rock solid, easy to work with, and (as much as the System allows) gives you your money's worth. She knows her law and won't be pushed around, and we got what we wanted every time. Five stars and highly recommended.

Where do I begin? I have been very fortunate to have met Karla. She has put my needs ahead of anyone else. She's worked tirelessly to get everything done right and to the point. She will leave no stone unturned. If you go to her expecting things to go your way no matter what, then I do not recommend her. Because the one thing I admire the most about her is that she is honest with how the legal system work and she is blunt when it comes to getting everything you want. She makes it abundantly clear that there must be a compromise in order to move forward. Having said that, the other reason I love her as a lawyer is that she will not take Sh*%$ from no one. She will fight for you when it comes to what is right. She's like a mini super woman. I highly recommend her.

I've been working with Karla for almost 3 years. She is/was very knowledgeable, prompt, readily accessible by phone or e-mail, knowledgeable, always well-prepared, gives accurate/good advice, tenacious when required, is reasonable/ sensible in approach, professional, easy to work with, has a great support team, and charges a reasonable rate. One doesn't get her skill set for free or for cheap, nor should you expect to. My divorce process cost a huge amount and took several years, but that wasn't on account of Karla. Briefs were accurate & well-prepared. Arguments before the judges were fact-based, made sense to the court & were all accepted. Your lawyer is your manager and advocate but *you* drive the bus. Frankly, I do not recognize the Karla Policelli described in several of the other posts here. Highly recommended. Currently with Campbell-Clark-Yemensky on Carling Avenue in Ottawa.

I have dealt with Karla and I am not happy with her, she never responds to the emails, her assistant is abit rude, I would not recommend this lawyer....... and she is overpriced......

I retained Karla a little over a year ago and she is great. She is timely in replying, extremely knowledgeable and does not overcharge. She has a great assistant and a great team. I am very satisfied. I have referred friends and family to her and the firm and they also were satisfied. I recommend.

I've had Karla as my lawyer for a while and I am not happy. In my situation she has done nothing for me so far other than get me a court ordered agreement and I've dished close to 11 500$. She's overpriced and not worth the money I've put into it.
