I have used Joan Horenstein as my attorney for several years. She is a very honest, dependable, competent and caring attorney. Joan intentionally withheld total settlement amount from the client claiming that the client will settle separately from the attorney which was against our sign agreement. She negotiated a 25% inflated attorney fee to the company: I complained to the FL bar. I complained to her and to the FL bar. and signed her closing settlement thinking the bar would help because of my previous signed attorney agreement. She sent in the copy of the closing statement. The bar does not want my evidence (said do not send at this time)but accepted her closing statement as evidents. The bar dismissed the claim and said if I further wanted to pursue to get another attorney. Watch what you sign if you want to use her. she said that she would not get more than 30% but it ended up 40% of the settlement.
