Mr. Wise has been our family lawyer for 20 years now. It all started when he won a wrongful dismissal case for me. Upon delivering a settlement cheque from my former employer, he gave me career path advice that has changed my entire life. Using his wisdom, I started up my own company. F/FWD 15 years, he helped me close the sale of my business (based on his original advice) and negotiated independent contractor work agreement with my new employer. Even though I didn't think it was relevant at the time, he negotiated that I be put on group benefit plan (when normally non-payroll employees are not entitled). 2 years later, I became disabled. Got $30K critical illness payout, $6K in non-taxable disability income per month, $400/month in drug expenses covered and my family of 5 is covered for dental, vision etc. Gary's fee (of under $1K) for reviewing my employment contract was the best investment I ever made. My wife is also using his legal services for her own business. Highly recommend!!

I was referred to Garry over 10 years ago to act as my attorney for my divorce. The advice given was professional and very wise (pun intended :-) ). Garry is an expert in law, using his wealth of experience and knowledge to approach and settle the divorce. But also, his sense of humour allowed us to work through even the ugly times of divorce so that it was as painless as it could possibly be, considering the circumstances. I was very happy with the outcome of my divorce, as I ended up with everything that I'd asked for. Thank you Garry! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Garry to anyone who is in search of a lawyer that will work tirelessly on their behalf to get the best possible outcome of their divorce. I need to preface this rating by saying that I was a lawyer until I jumped into business full-time many years ago. Garry was referred to me by another lawyer and mutual friend as I was going through an awful divorce that was exacerbated by some highly contentious and venomous issues. I asked for a referral to someone that was first and foremost practical and would not get dragged into the "destructive circus" that so many family matters become because of the ego and style of much of the Family Law bar. GARRY SHONE! He defended my interests without attacking my ex-spouse; he demonstrated extraordinary judgment and gave me sound, practical advice and best of all - when faced with a fire-breathing opposing counsel who believed that "higher decibels = higher client service", he calmly let her burn through her fuel without joining the chorus of pointless misery and money. His fees are very reasonable and he has a knack for understanding the needs of his clients.

Mr. Wise just helped both my husband and I as we were let go from our respective companies a month away from each other. He helped get us what we were entitled to and more, and was professional and accessible almost 24 hours a day. He was away on vacation and still replied to emails. I was very pleased with the service I received from Mr. Wise in regards to employment law. He was extremely knowledgeable and very attentive to my file. I have dealt with Garry wise for various different issues over the years. I find that he has superior legal skills and always approaches an issue with the objective of representing my best interests in the most efficient and effective way. I am tired of lawyers who try to inflate the bill by spending an excessive amount of time arguing with other lawyers while my invoice grows. Mr. Wise deals with any legal issues my family has had in a sensitive way and encourages resolution when it makes sense. This lawyer had no empathy for our plight - spent *years* billing us until we finally got to court and THEN forced us to accept an unscientific "compromise" based on his supposed mediation skills rather than the facts of the case. TWO YEARS after settlement he send us another bill to the tune of $20K that was supposedly "discounted" and had items dated three years previously even though he had always been paid up front on account. NOT RECOMMENDED.

This lawyer charged me over $20K for a service for which I did most of the work including getting it resolved myself. Never stayed in communication and every time I sent him an email to find out the status he charged me $50 for a reply. He has no teeth. The only time he showed me is a man when he asked me to pay the final bill after paying over $16K already. He does not care about his clients situation nor does he care to get the issue resolved. The longer it drags out the more he makes. He showed up at least 55 minutes late for every appointment I attended with him. Why can't I bill him for my time. Never gave me a proper update. Absolutely atrocious attorney. Could write more but running out of space.

I engaged him to deal with an employment law issue. He was abrupt in meetings and phone calls, he has no social skills and he did not tell me all my options - I had to seek other legal advice, which I am very happy with. I would never retain him again as I thought he was incompetent.

office staff are all very nice, they put on a good front. When it comes to you or your case, minimal effort from them means you dont get what you deserve and your case goes by the way side. Find another lawyer as this one is not what you need

In my opinion they ac like they will do a great job and get you a good settlement BUT the fact is they take a lot of cases and try to settle them fast without care for getting the most for their clients. I don't recommend them at all

I will regret forever for hiring Wise Law Office Toronto to help a wrongful dismissal case. I write this to warn others not to be deceived by the Web presence they have on the Internet. Their layer was unprofessional, gone on vacation completely neglecting the case. I fact, he had to be reminded to do something. At the end, he negotiated (if at all) a mediocre and poor settlement.
