He has been suspended from the practice of law by Louisiana Supreme Court. He acknowledged that he failed to maintain a client trust account, engaged in improper fee sharing with non-lawyers, and facilitated the unauthorized practice of law in Louisiana by a California attorney and the attorney’s non-lawyer staff. The court ORDERED that Carl N. Finley, Louisiana Bar Roll number 23074, be suspended from the practice of law for a period of three years, with one year deferred.

I hired this attorney to represent me in a Katrina hurricane case against LA Citizens. it took almost 5 years for him to get me a "meadiation" and he never in all that time called or wrote me. they called the day before the Meadiation and asked us to drive in. we did and he spent only 20 rushed min with us. i don't feel like gave me vigorus representation. He spent no time on my case at all we lost our home and all contents and were told by mr finely that the courts in NOLA were "tired of hearing these cases and were turning away claiments with nothing".we had made pretty good money before Katrina and in addition to a lovely home near the french quarter we had expensive personal items in the home that we were never paid for. he allowed the insurance companys attorney to bully and cheat us and he got us a terrible settlement. he told us if we didn't take the settlement wed get nothing in court and when i complaigned he threatened to turn me in to the IRS! i would NEVER use this firm.
