In my dealings with him, Charles Baker was extremely rude and obnoxious, and he didn't listen to anything I said, so I had to fire him and find another lawyer. I would never hire him again, and advise others not to do so either!

I retained Mr Baker when going through a divorce. After more than two years of dealing with his unsubstantiated arrogance and with little progress in the case I decided to fire him and retained another lawyer. The new lawyer negotiated a totally new agreement, correcting many errors, and negotiated an agreement which was fair and just. I regret having spent my time and money before realizing Mr. Baker was not capable of negotiating on my behalf. I do not wish for anyone to have my experience with this person.

Called this guy yesterday about an agreement form I received in the mail. He was RUDE!! After a 5 minutes back and forth he insulted me, raised his voice and interrupted me several times than hung up! This guy is in the wrong field. He should not be a family lawyer as he shows absolutely no compassion and is just down right ignorant, arrogant,rude and from many of the other posts does not like woman. A person that just hangs up on someone looking for information is just a COWARD. I highly recommend not to ever call this guy. I wonder if he talks down to the male clients??

Charles performed superbly in a four day divorce trial that resulted in a fair judgement. His organization and professionalism were an obvious contrast to opposing counsel. I am grateful that he was my representative and continue to recommend him to others.

Mr. Baker is a very knowledgeable, dependable, family lawyer. Allways reachable, or he will call you back in short time if you leave a message. He is a straight shooter, will tell you the way it is, which you might not like it sometimes. I would recommend him to anyone without any hesitation.

Charles is representing me in 3 separate matters as a result of a difficult family law case. Yes, he is blunt and doesn’t sugar coat the facts. He is not your therapist for those that dislike his blunt manner. You are paying him for his legal expertise and not to hold your hand. Charles will always keep your best interest at heart and tell you when you are being unrealistic. He is also extremely responsive, knowledgeable and tenacious. He is conscious of his client’s costs and will challenge you to do the leg work to save yourself money. I have seen him in action in front of mediators and judges and it is obvious that they respect his knowledge of the law. I have recommended him to three other people based on my faith in him. My only regret is that I should have listened to him 6 months sooner and would be further along in the process.

Charles was my second lawyer. The first one smiled and joked while billing me crazy amounts of money and accomplishing nothing. Charles is very blunt and direct. But he is very focused and organized. He kept on top of my case and timelines. Having just gone through a similar process for my current partner, I wish Charles was willing to travel to handle her case. He is honest and will do the best work possible and bill you fairly for the work done.

I was referred to Charles by my sister, after he handled a her complicated divorce in a very efficient and reasonable manner. In addition his fees were exceedingly reasonable. I have worked with Charles now for over 4.5 years, which included an 11 day trial (which he won) on my own very acrimonious divorce. I have nothing but positive things to say about his performance. He is an expert in the law and is very direct in his dealings. He always gets back to me in a timely fashion via phone or email, often within minutes. A number of these conversations have occurred after hours or on the weekend. Divorces are highly emotional and I know as a medical doctor how difficult it can be to deal with people in these situations. Charles has been nothing but professional and excellent in my dealing with him. His fees are also very reasonable and you will get what you pay for, good honest, hard work. I would highly recommend him to anyone involved in a simple or very complicated divorce.

Our biggest mistake consulting with Charles Baker was not to have left his office immediately after his rude, insulting behaviour, culminating with his use of profanity. We were totally shocked at his unprofessional conduct. As retired seniors, we have had years of experience at listening and giving due respect to others. Charles Baker has yet to learn these skills.

I can only hope folks read these reviews BEFORE engaging this lawyer. He is extremely rude, obnoxious, arrogant and egotistical. Unfortunately I wasted my retainer with him, however dropped him very quickly after that. If you do retain him expect to be insulted and belittled. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE STRONGLY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS MAN. He behaviour is atrocious!

Charles was my third lawyer. The first two did little other than charge me and not return my calls. Another family lawyer recommended him Charles is a take charge person. He told me right up front what to expect and what to do. His advice was always spot on. He is very efficient, very smart and is always on top of things. He always returned my calls and emails each day — even after hours. He always delivered on what he promised. His assistant Debbie was so helpful.

I just called Charles Baker to ask him a question that is related to my divorce file from couple of year ago. Instead of saying "Hello how are you?” he started to criticize my message from the day before. When we got to the issue at hand, he was rude and didn't want to answer my question. He flushed the issue down the toilet and pushed me towards my accountant. In my previous dealings, he showed off his ego, rudeness, condescending, and laziness as he didn't want to do due diligence on my behalf when I negotiated my divorce agreement. All he cared was to get his fee and run away for doing nothing for me.

Charles was my lawyer for 13 months. I came to know him well over this very stressful part of my life. I found him to be a firm but steady hand. I came to trust his judgment after we disagreed on strategies and the ones he had suggested turned out to have been correct. Charles has an incredible work ethic, he always returned my calls and emails. He is to the point, which is a good thing. We never wasted any time on things I could not afford, I always appreciated getting my questions answered. I would highly recommend Charles to anybody who wants an effective lawyer.

I called Charles seeking advice about a litigation issue. He immediately presented as rude and obnoxious. He continually cut me off when I spoke and chose not to listen to anything I said. I was referred to Charles by a friend of mine who raved about what he did for her. I was unhappy with my old lawyer who I thought cared more about what he thought he could make off me than what kind of job he could do for me. Nothing ever got done. Charles was right to the point beginning with our first meeting. He reviewed my case right away and told me exactly what I could reasonably expect and what I should do to help my case. He always got back to me. He always seemed to have an excellent sense about what the judges would say and how they would rule. They always liked his presentation. I thought his bills were very fair, and he encouraged me to do things to keep my legal costs down. I would highly recommend Charles, and I have to others.

If you a woman, stay away from him, very unprofessional dealing with client. He took my husband's side and told me to get a job and just divide everything in half as simple as that. He doesn't like women. Waist of time, don't go there. He'll just take your money and not give a s..t about you. Eventually I found a good lawyer, who looked after my interest and things turned into my favour. if I want listened to Baker it would be a disaster, thank goodness I got rid of him in time. Mr. Baker, you go back to university and upgrade yourself professionally. And stop rating yourself.

Charles is my third lawyer and the only lawyer I have referred to my friends and coworkers. He is direct and fair. He will not waste your time or your money. I've had lawyers who tried to negotiate but didn't understand my circumstances and ended up costing me a lot of money with no results. Charles saw the situation for what it was and got me what I was entitled to. I found him to be very knowledgeable in family law and a non nonsense kind of man. Divorce is a very difficult time...I trust him.

I was referred to Charles by my friend and from the day one I was very fortunate to have him on my side dealing with a recent lawsuit from an ex-wife. Charles was straight forward, all around professional and made me feel important as he treated my case as a priority. I was referred to Charles by a family friend who was not involved in family law. I met with him for 30mins at the initial interview. I came away from that meeting far clearer that I went in. Charles is a straight shooter, and does not mix words. I hired him the next day. Over the course of a year, we communicated, and he was not one to waste time with trivial matters. Only the important things did we spend time on. He is efficient, concise, and does not take crap from anyone- especially my ex and her lawyer. His no-nonsense approach, and tenacity closed out in the best of a brutal situation. It wasn't about money, it was about getting to the goal line as efficiently and painless as possible. He accomplished both. Would recommend him in a heart beat.

Charles is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable. He knows the Law and will give you advice, which you should follow. He does not sugar coat but will tell it like it is. He is very direct and to the point. He is one of the most organized and efficient people I know. Charles will keep you updated but does not spend your money needlessly. He is exceptionally prepared in any situation and nothing throws him off his game. He represented us at trial and his experience in the courtroom was impressive. He leaves nothing to chance. I used him and referred him to 5 people ALL who retained him and won their case. He is a great, well respected, very knowledgeable (no bedside manner) great guy. Charles is very smart and organized and focussed. He is a very direct person, but I appreciated that because he made sure I stayed on the right path. At first I saw Mr. Baker and then went to see someone else. I think I wanted to hear something different than what he was telling me.That was a mistake that cost me time and money. had a very good experience. i had to fire my previous lawyer and was recommende to charles. he got to work right away. he would always respeond to my calls and emails. i thought he really cared, but he would tell me when i was wrong. he resolved my file. his charges were reasonable. ithink his rate is 275. i would highly recommend him.
