Very unprofessional. Contacts the opposing counsels clients on their personal phones to question them. This was done without the opposing counsel knowing and was a complete surprise to the client. Don't believe this is even ethical.

Amazing Family Law lawyer, would recommend Ms. Canniff to anyone going through tough family law issues. Easy to talk to and promptly responds to messages. She provides realistic views of all issues and honest opinions.

She has room for improvement - I found Gillian to like the sound of her own voice very much. Gillian is great at scrutiny, but she lacks the ability to look at things from a judge's perspective.

RUN FAR AWAY!! She essentially ruined my case & cost me thousands in trying to correct her errors. You can't get a word in edgewise, and if you ask for clarification, she will "shush" you. She is lazy and negligent. If your case is even remotely complicated, find someone else. She doesn't do complicated. I also found that her advice was very contrary to the direction I wanted to go with my separation, and would only engage in more conflict with my ex. When I got to the end of my divorce proceedings, I ran into problems with misfiled documents, or items that were not documented, simply because she failed to disclose everything that was asked. Was a very frustrating and expensive process, that dragged out longer than it should've, only because she did absolutely nothing. Very unprofessional in court, and really plays into the courtroom antics. Poor in communication too. Oh, but don't worry-- she's very prompt in her billing.

Good luck and be warned, unless you believe you can manage a classic textbook sociopath, but then sociopaths assume they are the manager, while actually having very poor managerial skills, so very good luck with this.

Gillian is a conscientious lawyer who cares about her clients. Gillian is knowledgeable and highly organized. I found her very thorough and always did her utmost to respond to my questions. I would recommend Gillian to anyone looking to try and settle their family matters in a professional matter.
