Don't let anyone ever tell you that Dads can't win custody. I interviewed several lawyers and Mr. Burroughs was the only one that open and honest about my situation. He let me know that my case was a tough one but that he truly believed that my son should be with me. He helped me prove that I was the more stable parent and that my son would be better off with me. He was not only a great lawyer but a great listener and counselor.

I have fairly limited writing experience, so please bear with me. I was a wreck dealing with my Ex-Wife (Scared/intimidated) on custody of our son. Mr. Burroughs was patient and thorough with me through the entire process. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Burroughs Law Office. I now have physical custody of my son. When I was served with papers by my ex-husband who already had custody of our 4 year old son,I was floored.Mr. Burroughs LISTENED,he didn't talk to me like I was a nobody,like I didn't matter.He instilled confidence in me,made me truly believe that all would be ok and he would not let me fall.He gave me the advice I needed and the steps to get things done.If I felt nervous or scared, I called or emailed him and he reassured me.If I was angry and needed to vent, he was there for me to lean on.While we were in court,he had professional,kind, and confident presence.He held it together beautifully and gracefully to help maintain MY sanity.But somehow in all that calm,you could still see the storm clouds rolling in quietly.He had a subtle intimidation that rocked my ex to the core.He never hestiated,stood his ground,and didn't allow things to go unmentioned when we were in front of the judge.He may be a gentle giant but he is certainly no pushover and he knows his job and DOES his job well.

Thorough and caring is a rare combination for an Attorney. Mr. Burroughs and his assistant Geneva were there for me at every turn of my messy and contested divorce. I would have paid double.

Mr. Burroughs is an excellent and compassionate attorney. He did a wonderful job with my Military divorce. He crossed every "t" and dotted every "i". If I could rate him a 10 out of 5, I would.

This attorney is not experienced in contested military divorces. He might be okay for criminal law. Not recommended for the military divorces.

Mr. Burroughs represented me in a complicated and difficult military divorce. Mr. Burroughs and his staff were always responsive to my concerns and respectful at all times. During the entire process, I felt that he was looking out for me and for my son's best interests. I have referred him to several people on my ship and they have all had great experiences and even better results.

We used Mr. Burroughs as our attorney for our Estate Planning and he was professional, knowledgeable, & put us at ease. My husband was getting ready to deploy at the time and we had to get everything in order before he left. Mr. Burroughs made all of the legal language and confusion of Estate planning easy to understand. With the state of the world today I was extremely uncomfortable about my husband having to get his Last Will & Testament prepared but Mr. Burroughs and his staff made me feel that this was something that needed to be done no matter what your occupation. In January of 2009, after reading the reviews from LawyeRatingz.com. and scheduling several consultations, I knew Mr. Burroughs was the lawyer for my son. He represents his clients with a level of integrity that cannot be measured. My son was falsely accused, and treated as guilty until Mr. Burroughs' representation proved his innocence. I had no faith in a legal system that would take an accusation, and only an accusation, and treat a 17 year old in the manner in which the Commonwealth of VA treated my son. His representation was instrumental in restoring faith in a broken legal system which has become accustomed to convicting the innocence. In a situation where it seemed as though there was no hope, this man, Mr. Burroughs, ate, slept, and breathed his case. He believed in my son and my family as well. Because of Mr. Burroughs' tenacious representation, and relentless diligence, my son is now a freshman student at a poplar HBCUs in FLORIDA! Thank you for believing in my son!

Mr. Burroughs was upfront and honest with me about my situation from the start. He was kind and compassionate and helped me through a difficult military divorce and custody battle and the result was much better than I had hoped for. He was well prepared in court and well liked by the judge because he was prepared and had everything researched and organized. The guardian person for my children got along with him too. I think that this helped me in the end.

Advertises military divorce experience but has none. After paying over $1000.00 my situation got worse. This attorney was siding with my ex-spouse. I got more information about military divorce from my ex's attorney. All he did pass information-a middle man, never gave legal advice. When I questioned his representation, he got very aggressive with me, with a lot more aggression than what he represented me. He totally changed his story from what he told me during the initial "free" consultation - once he got my money it seem like it was all about adding up the cost with no zero results. I would not recommend this so called Lawyer to any of my brothers and sisters in arms/military person.
In his website, he says that he is a professor at a local university: 1. I'm embarrassed for that university and those students; 2. it was very obvious that he belongs in the classroom and not practicing law. Save your hard earned money and hire someone else who will care for your situation.
