I think there are way more criteria than the 5 listed to rate a lawyer. This website and rating scale is designed poorly. Richard went above and beyond in allot of ways. I had some issues that I wo t get into but at the time he had health issues that are now resolved and I chalk those up to that. Overall it was like most separations. A lose lose. He was up against a narccisitic spouse and they are unreasonable at best, who was rep'd by an inexperienced "know it all" who cashed in hard providing her client poor advice and dragging on things unessesarily. Richard was mostly the voice of reasons but it was also good that I knew when to speak up and get the whole lot of them realigned as my own bank account hemoraged. All said and done, I would recomend him for mediation stuff and I don't know how he does in counrt because we never went to trial but I suspect he's quite good there based on his countenance and demeanor

Wastes a lot of time shuffling paper and fabricating stories to increase billable hours. Plays dirty and lines his own pockets. Very disrespectful, rude, a very unhappy and unpleasant person. Does not follow rules. His assistant Diane is a real pissed off at life type of person also.

Real caring and passionate until he gets your retainer. Did not listen to simple requests about contacting opposing plaintiff.Could not follow simple instructions, zero follow up after hour long meeting, zero feed back. Coughed up useless emails to the otherside to rack up retainer. Did not return emails. Diane his loyal assistant had no reading comprehension skills and made multiple mistakes would not admit any wrong doing.

Richard Smith is a terrible lawyer. He is extremely overpriced for the service he provides, he is difficult to contact unless you owe money, he does not act in your best interest, even after being told repeatedly what is needed. I would recommend him to your ex partner, as he is sure to not only drain them financially, but physically as well, not to mention the time involved with chasing him around. He is knowledgeable, he’s been doing it awhile, but, when in court, Richard has as much of a backbone as a jellyfish, and the memory of a goldfish. Richard not once corrected multiple statements that were extremely inaccurate in court, he also refused to provide examples to the other counsel that were provided to him. Richard is lazy, and only dealt with things the minute they were needed, even court. He was beyond disappointing when it came down to it in the end. STAY AWAY

A friend of mine hired Richard to help her with settlement from her scum Doctor spouse that lured vulnerable women on dating sites and Ashley Madison cheater site. Thanks to Richard, the slime ball Iranian born resident doctor and his circle of friends are exposed in court reports. Please access them in the court house since they are open to public now.

Richard toasted my cheating-liar spouse in an interview. Richard is famous among my circle and the ladies are impressed with him so far. Men watch out!!

I think he's pretty good and helpful. He helped me with confronting my cheating spouse in order to get my alimony.

Could be a very knowledgeable lawyer, however the way he conducted my case was poor, bad advise, didn't call me, left my case sitting for a while... his main interest is just how much money and keep the case open, no solution whatsoever until one day, gave me his word and next thing a Law sues was delivered... i am seeing him on the Law BAR association now, really bad.

Managed to turn my contentious divorce into a well mediated and managed manner after two other lawyers failed to do so. Very forthright and agreeable. Did not treat me like an idiot and was kind and personable. Very happy with Mr. Smith's services.
