To take it to the most basic of civil rights and laws no one with a TBI should ever represent themselves in a United States courtroom for any reason. And every senor court officer such as Support Magistrate John Raimondi should know that. I believe they are running a criminal enterprise and I wonder how many hundreds if not thousands of people Mr. Raimondi and the Suffolk County court system as scammed this way. And continue to scam to this day.

Doesn't return phone calls or emails. She only cares about collecting her checks for payment and then you will never hear from her again. You will be chasing her down on court day to ensure she shows up and then she loses for you, because she doesn't know anything.

she was great to have as the opposing attorney. I got everything from my ex-husband. She doesnt sign any ppers on time and lies to your face. very unprofessional. Dont Waste Your Money

She did a great job for me and I would and have recommended her to others. Very difficult to go through a divorce and probably the most difficult thing you will ever do. She will be very honest with you and cut through to the truth about what to expect is reasonable. Reasonably priced, I was very happy with her.

I didn't retain her, but my husband did. She is terrible. She never returns faxes/documents/phone calls and then blames the other law office. (I proved this to my husband, who was disgusted.) Basically, I got everything in our divorce because of this lawyer's incomptence. Stay away.

Awesome attorney that gets reviewed by strangers, almost like they were on the opposing side that felt they lost. I would actually be looking for someone that would make the other side so angry they have to continually post on a review website.

I never had her for an attorney myself, but used to go with my girlfriend when she had court appearances. I thought, from the first day I went that she was terrible, and I felt that way when it was finally over, after 7 years! After reading the other posts on here, I'm getting the feeling I was right. Except of course for the one happy customer who posted on April 2015. It makes me wonder if that post was legit. So sad that people put their trust in lawyers for such an important part of their lives, only to get let down. PICK YOUR ATTORNEYS CAREFULLY, as it will affect the rest of your lives, and your childrens lives.

Ms. Mendelsohn was very helpful to me during a most difficult time. Ms. Mendelsohn was understanding, professional and very knowledgeable of matrimonial law and procedure. She was able to settle my divorce through skillful negotiations with my ex wife's attorney, avoiding a trial and additional costs. Possibly some of the other people who posted here did not do what was asked of them. And why not? I highly recommend Ms. Mendelsohn for any type of Family Court matters.

Divorce is a horrific time in anyone's life and choosing the right attorney is paramount. Jennifer Mendelsohn is NOT the attorney you want to represent you. Her lack of professionalism and preparedness for depositions and court appearances was more stressful than the demise of my marriage. Motions were never filed, communication with client was non-existent(3 weeks to have a phone call returned!), confidentiality was suspect, lacked knowledge or withheld pertinent information about client's entitlements, and the constant use of vulgar language (I surmise) was to have one believe she was a force to be reckoned with...not so. Finally, after a year with this mayhem, I fired Jennifer and found a professional, knowledgeable, efficient,and compassionate divorce attorney. I am writing this review, not to bash this attorney, but to honestly inform anyone who is seeking legal representation in a divorce to choose carefully. Unfortunately, cost is a factor in representation.

STAY AWAY!STAY AWAY!!!! I only have 1000 characters and don't even know where to begin. The proof is all right here, she should not be practicing marital law. As I read all these reviews I agreed with everything excep the one positive one, which was probably from Donna her legal assistant. Her favorite line "we'll you married her" it should be " I am gonna do everything I can to watch you lose everything. She agrees with the other attorney taking there word for everything. I had asked her to check the numbers for months knowing what my spouse makes, she kept saying ok ok ok. Yet in the end my spouse made 20,000 less then what was told. I know this because we did our taxes together. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF REPRESENTING YOURSELF. The reviews speak for themselves. There are many better lawyers out there you just have to look. This one, if you want to give up everything and don't care about anything them she's your girl. Also do not question her commitment she actually does even worse

Wow. I feel bad for these other reviewers that seem to have had a bad experience. That has not been my experience at all. Quite the opposite for me. My dealings with Ms Mendelsohn have always been professional and productive. I know some issues are beyond most people's control, and we work with what we are given, and I have seen this attorney work some incredible results. It's unfortunate that satisfied clients don't usually find sites like these to leave positive reviews. Afterall, they have already found the attorney they will keep going back to, like this one.

I suggest hiring her if you want your ex to win everything. She was always late to court. Waited weeks and weeks for her to return a phone call. She was a guppy, not a shark, as she was promised to be. Weak, I could have represented myself better. She owes me money. Never followed up, my ex got custody of MY child due to her inability to represent me properly.I was told "We do not do the emotional". Funny, I thought court was all about "the best interest of the child". Yet, the law guardian stated, "It is not in the best interest of YOUR CHILD TO LIVE WITH THIS MAN". I guess it is all about who you know and who has the most money. So much more, but will wait. If she decides to sue me, she must remember she gave my ex everything.There is no money. My child and I suffer every time. She should be disbarred. Oh , and as an after thought, If you do not pay her, be prepared for her to sue you. Pretty sure her God has a special place for her.

She treated me poorly and had such a nasty attitude to me. I had to wonder if she was representing me or my husband and questioned her relationship with his attorney. She was terrible. Charged an arm and a leg and achieved absolutely NOTHING in the year I retained her services. RUN! dont walk away from her.

Stay away! her attitude just pissed off the magistrate. She arrives late to court further pissing him off . she was very nasty to me her client . she just settles the case could have done it better my self. she also quotes a price and does not honer it, does not keep you informed of over costs.

I hired Jennifer Mendelsohn for a very serious divorce. There was proven child abuse issues. I was asked to fill out finacial statements for her, she offered no help or insight. she was nasty and dismissive. I had proof that I payed my wife support. when the Judge asked for the proof, Jen just stood there unprepared and disorginized. The Judge put me 12.000 in arrears and she would only offer the excuse of, "Well, you married her" she ripped me off and was fired. I still havent recovered from her blatent lack of caring or professionalism. Avoid at all cost.
