Alain is a excellent lawyer, unless you want to communicate with him. He doesn’t respond to email or text, which can be very stressful. He’s lucky he has great support staff but needs to get with modern technology. I first hired him in 1984 after I fired another lawyer I had because he agreed to take the case & after he had my money wanted to plead guilty to a lesser charge - Alain beat the charges easily because the RCMP hadn’t done their work & didn’t have a case (sound familiar?). 2nd time around was pretty much the same scenario - RCMP throwing multiple charges around hoping something would stick based on no evidence. Makes me feel bad for the prosecutors & NOT wonder why the court system is so backed up. In hindsight not really difficult cases to defend since neither case actually went to trial

I paid $10,500 because he told me he would call witnesses to court. He did not call any witnesses. He pleaded me guilty instead of defending me as he should have. He did this all with out my knowledge. He would not answer me when I tried to contact him. I do not recommend this lawyer to anybody. Save yourself and your money.

We paid Mr. Hepner $10,000 and were led to believe that we would get off the charge.Most of the time we could not get a hold of him and did not know what was going on or what we should do, or if he was even going to show up in court.We pretty much did everything oursrlves. The night before the trial he said that he was given new evidence and wasn't so sure and as we suspected the next day at trial he said all he could do was plea bargain which in the end we could have just done ourselves.Anyway,save your money and get legal aid or just talk to the Crown yourself as you will have better luck than having this guy represent you as all he is about is the money.
