Once I had paid Soma I found her to be completely disinterested in pursuing my claim. Getting updates from Soma was like pulling teeth. If you have a small to medium sized claim look elsewhere.

I had some problems with an employer and needed help. A family friend suggested Soma and it was the best thing for my case. She knew what she was doing, worked hard on my case, and got me everything that I asked for. One of the best things was that she always kept me up to date on what was going on, and how my case was going. If anyone I know has employment law problems I recommend her.

We were referred to Soma through friends of ours. Soma is very professional, but equally important, both herself and Judi are extremely personable and knowledgeable. We connected with Soma on an personal level, but she was also very clear to explain legally what we need to take into consideration and could be potentially encountering.
We found both Soma and Judi to be patient with our questions / queries and always kept us in the loop of what was going on. We trusted them, and we were very pleased with the outcome. Soma is a brilliant lawyer. I recently used her to negotiate a high profile/explosive case of wrongful dismissal. Her services were excellent. She got me a large settlement package and it did not take very long, from my termination to retaining her services to settling my case. My costs were reasonable and well worth the service and she always responded in a timely fashion. She quickly put an end to the scare tactics my former employer was using against me. She also got me a letter of reference which was very instrumental in me obtaining my next job. I feel vindicated and relieved by the services provided by Soma. I would highly recommend her to anyone, not only because of the results but also because of the very prompt and attentive service and her professionalism.

Hands down, the absolute worst lawyer I have ever dealt with. Stay away!! Always talks over others, never listens. Poor memory for details. Never meets deadlines. Always delays. Sings a great song about your chances of winning until she has your money, then drags her feet and does little to make it happen. Should lose her license.

Not satisfied with being over charged and very little attention or care was given. My case was dropped due to her inability to help me and me giving her a lot of money for literally nothing but a couple sticky notes of info and unreturned emails. would not recommend Soma or her practice to any one ever.

She knows how to sell herself to the client, and is tenacious only at charging them (hence the 2). Then drags the case on until you run out of money or the judge dismisses due to delay. She's entirely incapable of explaining trial or case process to the point where it's clear she does not understand it herself. She routinely charged for meetings solely scheduled to rehash the same info time and again due to the fact that she forgot the details the first couple of times. This lawyer has been more stressful than the case itself.

Soma, and her assistant Judi, were fantastic in helping me deal with my horrible former employer. It took some time, as my former employer just took every opportunity to delay all the steps at every opportunity. I only wished I had more money to take my former employer to court. I would like to thank Soma for getting me a settlement I could live with

Ms. Ray-Ellis is an excellent lawyer who really knows her stuff and isn't afraid to back down from a fight. She delivered results without having to litigate through strong negotiation skills and a thorough knowledge of employment law. You get what you pay for. Highly recommended for people with serious cases who have been unfairly wronged.

Hired Soma Ray-Ellis in a very basic case and was charged in total over 20,000$ for a couple of emails and a couple letters! no court appearancs and 1 face to face 30minute meeting which I got billed 2 hours for! never even spoke to her, only her unknowledgable assistant/helper. Through many delays and mistakes admitted on their behalf my case was dropped and I was in the hole my life's savings. instead of getting help from being a victim, I was victimized again. She has credentials maybe... but horrible morals and ethics. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN ENTRUSTING HER WITH YOUR CASE!!!
