A dishonest lawyer protected by a corrupt system. He charged $4000 for advice on how to avoid being forced by McGill University into covering up scientific fraud. Instead, he asked me what I want as remedy. He refused to discuss the case to charge for reading documents. He wrote an illegible contract and did not provide a copy. He cashed my cheque and did not provide an invoice. I complained to Quebec Bar and obtained the contract. He had falsely claimed the case was discussed and that he had asked for more details by email. Quebec bar should have cancelled the contract based on illegibility and not having provided me with a copy. Instead, they dragged my complaint on for over a year just to let me know my only choice through the Bar was arbitration.
I pursued the matter in Small Claims Court. The judge, Sylvie LaChapelle, defended him by omitting facts and lying. LaChapelle had relied on the fact that only her decision remains accessible and not the real evidence.

STAY AWAY. Can't agree more with the other negative reviews. This guy is a scammer and a liar. I hired him for a case and he charged me $3000. After he got paid, he contacted my family and asked for $5000 more although he didn't do anything regarding my case. What's worst than that is he forgot my court date. Then I had to go with another lawyer and when I asked him for a refund since he didn't do anything, he sent me a reciept claiming that the $3000 was for phone calls that he made. Shame on you Irwin for taking advantage of people. Trust me people if you are reading my review, STAY AWAY as he is a scammer. I don't even know how he is still practicing.

Awful experience. He was charging me a huge amount for an associate which I later discovered was just out of law school with no experience. She was fine but did not understand the complexity of the statement she was asked to take then in filing a court document there were numerous errors of fact and of simple names like that of the other party. Shocking that he provided no guidance or oversight. DO NOT USE THIS MAN. He wasted valuable time and compromised my case with work that had to be redone by another lawyer.

This "man" took in excess of 65,000.00 from me in the space of 5 and a half months in a major lawsuit. Mr. Liebman made several mistakes in preparing my deposition to court which only became apparent once I left his firm. It then took over 9 months to recover a percentage of my fees from him while continuing my suit in court. Mr. Liebman showed no remorse or regrets in the way he treated my case and me personally and indeed was so delusional that he himself started to point out what more could be done in my case and offered to help me "with consultation advice" in the suit. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LAWFIRM! Buyer beware, you will get no help from the Bar Association of Quebec, they are the one's responsible for permitting and licensing lawyers like this and will do more to protect corrupt lawyers like Mr. Liebman than to help protect the client!

Please stay way from this Lawyer. He is very sloppy in his work. He simply does not care. He makes a deal then breaks it always demanding more money or he will not show up in court. You are going through a serious situation. Irwin Liebman is NOT THE ONE you should trust. PLEASE STAY AWAY !

Irwin Leibman represented me in a professional, excellent, distinct and "critically decisive" manner in the inadmissibility hearing process that was simple on the surface and complicated in the details. The Government presented an aggressive case for a 5 year exclusion, while Irwin successfully defended my statements and the right to own an independent US Based business while having a girl friend in Canada in a similar business, without it constituting "work in Canada" or false and misleading entry into Canada.

Irwin Liebman was my lawyer. I am completely unhappy with him. I could say a lot more. Enough to fill a book. However, please use good judgement. I was completely unhappy with him. His work, his style.
