The glowing ratings for this so-called criminal lawyer are highly-overrated. This lawyer couldn't even on an utter death threat, he is stupid. I will qualify and quantify this argument, he put the words in the Crown's witness mouth, so you say he uttered a death threat, the witness was more than obliging, and responded, by his correct assertions, what kind of defence was that, he is a bon-head. Now he's going to screw his next client.

This lawyer is a big-time dump-truck, he doesn't speak with conviction, his courtroom demeanor is passive at best.

I've personally witnessed this lawyer conduct two trials. Liam destroyed two police officers in a drug trial that I thought was unwinnable - he won but I'm still convinced it was unwinnable. In the other trial he had a jury eating out of his hand which led to an aquittal. I'd bet the farm that this lawyer has won more recent murder trials than any other Toronto criminal lawyer.

I hired him on the basis of his glowing page on the Pinkofskys site. My offense was in a notorious category, but my actions were relatively minor & defensible. I was jailed, frazzled, inexperienced & so my legal dealings were rough. I own up to my contribution to problems & O'Connor could only work with what he was given. As usual with OLA funded cases, he did not brief me much b4 trial- maybe thought I was too loose cannon but that seems to have hurt more than helped. His performance at trial was adequate, but, I felt, routine. Later I tried to hire him for a breech charge but he ultimately rejected it for weak reasons. In many dealings he was sullen, blustery, & sometimes illogical. I am sure that, as his webpage attests, in cases he is used to & suitable for he does a good job- but with clients like me & cases like mine, his impatience & resultant lack of insight & fiery manner gets in the way. Also, as with many Toronto lawyers, every microsecond is a New York microsecond.
