Val Ambrosino must be the #1 billing lawyer in Canada. He knows how to persuade naive clients like me to pay him $10,000's to drag out a divorce case and make you think all along the way that it is your ex who is at fault. Hindsight is 20/20. Val is the problem. He thrives on conflict. He earns more money by ramping up the conflict. STAY AWAY FROM VAL AMBROSINO

Don't waste your time, unless you have lots of MONEY to burn. That's all he cares about is your money in his pocket. Charged me for the time he spent talking to the opposing lawyer about his new watch when he was supposed to be negotiating a settlement. Then had the nerve to charge me for it.

Mr. Ambrosino and his team, especially (Ashley Bogglid) worked very hard to represent me in a 3 year battle. Val and Ashley went out of their way to also, help me in another personal matter. Definitely hire this lawyers if all you want to do is line his pockets and be suckered into a high conflict divorce roller coaster ride. Mr. Ambrosino is excellent at convincing a client to dig their heels in and fight til the bitter end. He even knows how to make it sound that it is your ex's fault and that he is simply reacting to the other side. This is how scary this lawyer is. He appears to sound smart and solution-oriented when in fact he is entirely selfish about his billing. Valois Ambrosino should be avoided at all costs.

Val went out on his own since Gardiner Roberts and hired some great young employees. Those employees should be on guard for damaging their careers and also as people, ethically, for the negative and damaging impact Val has on children during divorce in order to pay himself. he is transparently not focused on his clients. stay away as an employee and client!

Val and his team helped me with my divorce. He is first class. Everything you would want in a family law lawyer. He is caring, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable and has the utmost honesty and integrity. I would strongly recommend him.

Warning you against using this fraudster! Val represented my ex in our 3 year divorce. She ended up with a settlement that was $1 million less than I originally offered her. Plus, the kids now live with me full time. With certainty, her personal and finical loss can be attributed directly to this clown. I will be filing a complaint with the law society in 2020 to put an end to this jokers career. When you interview him, note he is always in court as this is the only method of padding his fees from his dwindling client base. Val made promises to my ex that he had no reasonable chance of obtaining. He made outrageous and unfounded claims against me. He delayed filing documents and postponed meetings and court dates and was generally not engaged in the file at all. From a professional perspective, Val had difficulty with simple financial terms and concepts, basic taxation principles and could not interpret monthly financial statements. What a disaster. Stay away!

He was my ex-husband's lawyer and he had no intention of settling the case. He put us against each other and only wanted to continue to litigate. My lawyer wouldn't hear from him for months! Finally my ex fired him but he put us through hell and unncessary delays and expenses for a year. He is a terrible lawyer.

He is a real fraudster. I agree with other reviewers. In my personal opinion this man should not be allowed to practice law. It is also my opinion that he is not interested in the well being of those involved in family court but rather the well being of his own bank account. Stay away from him unless you are ready to go on a ride where he makes you believe that he is going to win for you until you realize he is drawn each and every cent from you with no result.

Val was referred to me, glowing recommendation. In reality that was not the case. He is impossible to get a hold of and any staff member you speak to, seems to be really bothered that your even calling. Numerous calls with Val were set up, none of them followed through. I found myself chasing his firm for answers. In the mean time my ex partner and his lawyer were prepared and thorough and ready to go. He did not negate or dispute any of the allegations my ex made. ALL FALSE. Why I didn’t get the same attention I am not sure? He is one of the more pricey attorneys as well. NOTHING has been done, NOT one question I’ve asked has been addressed. NO phone call has ever come in from him when over 3 were "set up". Secretary sounds like she works at a retail store and she is annoyed when she has to go check for your size. NO PROFESSIONALISM. You want to feel heard and attended to as this process is a less than desirable one. I feel really let down and taken advantage of. BEWARE

I recently retained Val Ambrosino and his team for my divorce, which involved court litigation. Val's advice, guidance and direction throughout my divorce case, was in a word: incredible! His staff is professional, courteous and caring. They are amazing. And Val is a fantastic divorce lawyer. Terrible! He sucked money out of me for two years. My trial was coming up and he told the judge he was on vacation for three weeks. His law clerk is really sweet until they decide they don’t want to work with you anymore. He switched firms in the middle of my case and didn’t have the balls to tell me. When I decided to switch lawyers because he wasn’t giving my case enough attention he brought me to court. When he has to realease my files to me, the law clerk left them on the ground for me to pick up. If you have loads of money they will be sweet but don’t let your resources go dry.

Val Ambrosino is an excellent family lawyer and I would highly recommend him for any family law matter. He recently helped me with my separation and divorce and I have referred him to family and friends. My wife hired a very difficult, out of control lawyer and Val was able to reign her in. He is very knowledgeable, skilled and knows his way around a courtroom. He is highly respected by judges and I was able to witness his excellent advocacy firsthand. We developed a game plan together and he was able to execute it flawlessly. Everything he told to expect happened as planned. You can trust him to care about you and your case. Val is a hero. He stands up for what is right and he protects you with all of his might. His kind, calm demeanour are unmatched as is his stamina maintaining excellence even after a long day in court. His recall of minute details is astounding and accurate. Not to mention the level of perfection of the materials that come from his team. He saved me, when I had lost hope in any sort of Justice. He saved my children, and that is priceless. This guy should be removed from the Bar! All he cares about is how big the BILL is at the end of the day!
He’s incompetent. His tactic is to create unnecessary conflict to prolong litigation. He has his best interests at heart not yours or your families. Instead of negotiating a settlement, he initiated a conversation with the opposing lawyer that was completely unrelated to the case not knowing he could be heard from the adjoining room. I’M VERY SUSPECT OF THE GLOWING REVIEWS BELOW. Makes you wonder why he’s bounced from one firm to another. He has his own firm now! LOOK OUT your billings will probably be going through the roof now that he’s in charge!

Mr. Ambrosino knows the law, and can be tenacious on his client's behalf when required. However, he also understands the emotional and financial toll family law matters can take on both parties and their children, and encourages and facilitates fair and expeditious resolution whenever possible. I have the highest regard for him, and would recommend him without hesitation.

If you want to be embroiled in lengthy litigation and conflict he’s your lawyer. He fosters and encourages the animosity between both parties in order to rack up the charges and send invoices. He only cares about making money off of you at a very vulnerable time. Stay Away!!

Do not hire Val unless you enjoy an extremely lengthy litigation. Val is very creative when it comes to delays. My trial was originally scheduled for 5 days. It took 12 days instead all due to Val’s creativity!!! First he had allergies, then a doctor’s appointment and finally a heart attack! Yes, a heart attack!!! When I called the hospital to check on him I was told that he wasn’t even there! He walked himself into the emergency hours later and was sent to his family physician. There was clearly nothing wrong with him! He brought in a doctor’s note to the judge that he was under observation. This guy would go to any lengths to delay the case and collect more fees. I lost my house because of Val. He is just a terrible lawyer.

I came out of a messy divorce Val was my third lawyer. My first two lawyers couldn't get anything done and my case seemed stalled forever. Val helped me understand my objectives and goals. He and i were able to agree on a gameplan and he executed our strategy perfectly. He was very knowledgeable, experienced, caring and professional. I have so much gratitude for him and his team. I would highly recommend him.

Much promised, fees agreement, retainer given, then he forgets all of the above and does his own thing. Contacts not returned, progress slow; however, invoices keep coming without regard for initial agreement as to payment of fees for steps completed in the process. Months went by without promises being kept only to be followed by more promises. The only thing that you can count on is the fact that the invoices will keep coming whether or not the work or results have been attained. Run from this guy or suffer the consequences. I think that the positive ratings on Val may be suspect.

Fantastic lawyer and a even better person who cares. I'm a male who's divorced and got full custody of my son under very difficult and unusual circumstances and as single fathers know...getting full custody is extremely hard to do. Val did it for me and over the years has continued to offer beneficial advice and legal recommendations for other matters and lawyers in other fields of law I needed. I think the negative reviews are from unrealistic people who didn't get what they wanted or expected free legal representation. ALL lawyers are crazy expensive and charge for every word...email..conversation you have with them. Val didn't invent that system and from a personal standpoint, he gave me a break on many things to help me out. I would recommend him in an instant...a great lawyer with a heart and soul...there's not a lot of them around but Val is one of them.

From a knowledge perspective I believe he’s good but he messes up dates and can put you out on a limb. Never returns calls. This lawyer forget that they are messing around with your family and take risks with your life and create billable hours. They should be personally accountable. I agree with a previous comment. He should not be allowed to practice.

I think, when you don't get what you want, it's easy to blame your lawyer. But, that's just not fair. As someone who's been divorced & referred friends to Val - take it from me that he's the best of the best. Will you always get everything you want? Probably not. Will it be cheap? Nope. But, what you will learn right away is that Val does what he does FOR THE CHILDREN. He is your lawyer, but his passion is your KIDS. The first thing he said to me when I met him before retaining him was: "I will be your lawyer. I will give you advice. But, if you ever do something or ask me to do something that will hurt your children, I will quit. I care more about doing what's right for your kids than I do about being paid". That is why Val is the best lawyer - because he is the best PERSON. Thank you Val for being wonderful!!!

You will not find a more dedicated and committed family law lawyer who truly cares about your case. Val acted for my brother and I have referred tonnes of my friends to him – all of them rave about him. 2 more things: 1.Val was an associate at Torkin’s – he left there to become a partner at Blaney’s and then accepted the Chair of the family law group at Gardiner Roberts. When did career advancement become a bad thing? 2. My brother and all my friends tell me that Val has given them courtesy discounts with almost every single bill he has sent them – I don’t understand the previous reviews unless of course they were written by my brother’s wife!!!

An absolute turkey! his approach is to ignore matters eventually they will go away. He represented me a couple yrs ago when at Torken then Blaney, he dropped the ball a couple of times cause he didn't file material when required, this has resulted in extreme aggravation that continues to this day. Essentially he accomplished nothing in my case except for billing me out of $40k worth, also attempted to charge time to educate his assistant "research"??? made no sence since he is suppose to be the expert?? I would not recommend him, unreliable and keeps changing firms...was at Torken Manes, then Blaney McMurtry now Gardiner Roberts all within a 5 yr period, this doesn't help when these cases can continue for a few years. Totally agree with the posturing, will lie cover up his errors, and will tell you what you want to hear....to keep the money flowing.

What a turkey! He'll bluster and blunder to no greater effect than many other lawyers who will use your money effectively and with civility. He likes to write letters and spend clients' money threatening people endlessly, but isn't interested in actually settling your matter. One supposes he isn't interested in settling your matter because then he'd have to stop billing you to play out his tough guy antics. Tenacious in a bad, expensive way. More's the pity. One gets the impression he'd be otherwise capable if he could get over his apparent need to posture.
