ML always had the best interest of my child during a highly contested custody battle. The case has settled and I was awarded primary custody. After 9 years of frustration and tens of thousands of dollars in the Family Courts, I had lost faith in our courts and their ability to do the right thing.

I was highly disappointed, felt like an adversary instead of her client because of the way she spoke to me. She referred me to a mediator and during mediation, the mediator and her allowed some one from the accounting firm to come in and pitch me his business which I thought highly unprofessional and trying to take advantage of a highly emotional time, after final details worked out I got another attorney for final decree. My new attorney made me feel comfortable, was compassionate and caring and always answered questions in a timely and clear manner

We worked with ML and her assistance Sabrina for almost a year. We were very please with the professional service, understandment of the situation and assistance on getting the divorce settled.ML was always communicating with my daughter and kept her informed on the details of what to expect and all the problems. My wife and I watched the process from another state (VA) and was extremely please with Ml and her staff. Highly recommend her to anyone having to go through this type of divorce.

ML got lazy and assessed my income by simply adding up the total deposits to my bank account, which included over $21k of loans. Then she saddled me with an untenable alimony. Only told me to pay it, regardless. She refused to collaborate with me about strategy. Got enraged when I did any reading or research on my own. I'd describer her approach as interested in perceptions, not facts.

I think the good ratings on this site were written by her staff! She repeatedly told me that my ex was my own fault, "you're the one who married her...". She will threaten to go to court but always settles. Always. Dropped my case when the money ran out.

My first recommendation to anyone requiring a family law, particularly a child custody, attorney is to retain Marie-Louise Ramsdale. I have been party to several child custody cases, and my experiences with ML have consistently shown me that she is the best family law attorney in the Charleston area. Recently, ML has provided excellent guidance & support to my fiancée in his petition for primary custody of his daughter. ML and her staff have ceaselessly been:
-Thorough and precise in their research, findings, and documentation
-Effective in moving issues forward in a timely manner – they know everyone in Charleston and are highly respected by their peers and other 0rofessionals, and
-Relentless and dead-on in the courtroom in supporting their client’s position
In the case I referred to in my first paragraph, ML recently won temporary custody for the father which is a tremendous victory. I feel confident that wit ML as his attorney he is well positioned to be awarded custody.

Ms. Ramsdale has yet to make any progress in my case. She seems to take the other sides case. Definitely not what I need in an attorney. Takes my money but doesnt stand by me. It is a shame.

This year I was referred by several people to a family law attorney in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Her name is Marie-Louise Ramsdale. I came to Marie-Louise with an emergency custody issue involving my granddaughter. I can’t begin to convey how Marie-Louise and each of the staff embraced my situation and treated it as the emergency it was. Within one day an Emergency Motion was filed, while a member of her staff sat and waited for a judge to sign it. That very same day my granddaughter was safe, as I was granted temporary emergency custody. If it were not for the hard work and diligence of Marie-Louise Ramsdale and her staff, my granddaughter’s life would be much different today. I have not come across a stronger child advocate. I have been meaning to write this review for some time. When I googled her name to find out where I could post this comment/review, I was shocked to see a less than favorable review. She was my attorney but quit when this got challenging. Not sure why she is in this business if she can not take the emotion of Family Law. The nature of the beast it is dirty. I would not recommend her.
