Horrendous lawyer I advise anyone that's filing bankruptcy do not go to her,she is never in the office ,and she gives you misleading information , as a result of taking her advice I have been evicted from my apartment ,and the refund she informed me that I would receive as a result of me being garnished I still have not received it and it's been two months !!! I advise anyone to please be aware of her and her father as well Robert Markowitz !

Wow, this is disappointing... I used Carolyn in 2007. she did a very good job taking care of my divorce even though she was over 8 months pregnant! I referred her to a friend who had an experience similar to those outlined here. I was about to refer her again but was routed to this page when I looked up her number.I can't in good conscience refer her to anyone that I know and like. It's unfortunate.

I went through a divorce in 08 and it was a referral. Carolyn was not attentive to my needs, she was never in the office. I had to reach out to them all the time asking for court dates, but of course they knew how to ask for a payment every time you walked in the door. A client should never be in a courtroom feeling lost of what to expect especially during the first appearance. If you setup a meeting, be ready to be in there for 5 minutes tops, you are not a priority. All about that money. Someone asked me for their number the other day. I was straight up, you may want to look elsewhere, you need a solid detailed oriented attorney, not someone running in the courtroom looking unorganized. Find someone else because everyone in that office SUCKs.

I thought she did a very good job on my divorce. She was very straight forward and told it like it is. She is affordable, if you want more time with her tell and pay her more.

She is the worst lawyer I have ever dealt with. She did not return calls. The divorce judgment had many holes and left me without any money and allowed my ex to keep kids away from me. She did not defend me and forgot all facts and did not prepare while she was in front of the Judge. She is cheap but terrible. Pay a little more for another lawyer. She handles many cases at one court appearance and leaves you hanging. She will back stab you and destroy your case by telling the other side and the FOC family counselor information that will be held against you. She is belligerent and totally incompetent. AVOID HER.

I hired Carolyn for a bankruptcy. She never returned my phone calls. I had to deal with her father much of the time. They failed to include a judgment in my bankruptcy. When I asked him why, he responded with "why don't you ask me if my daughter went to the bathroom yesterday." These people are sick, rude, unprofessional, money hungry and to top it off...they don't carry malpractice insurance. They have been grieved several times and have even been suspended by the board. I retained another attorney, as I do not ever want to see their faces again. I will be filing a MAJOR grievance.

I went to Markowitz post divorce for advice with regard to filing for bankruptcy. I wanted to know if I would qualify to file. Since my ex-husband was in default of our divorce decree Markowitz told me that I could file a Chapter 7. She said that if the 7 didn't fly she'd simply convert it to a Chapter 13. Well, the 7 'didn't fly'. Soon I received a letter from Markowitz informing me that she "didn't do 13's" and recommended that I see another lawyer. I went to the lawyer she suggested. He told me that he could 'try' to convert my 7 to a 13 but that I would have to qualify. I'd have to prove that I could pay on a 13 which I knew wasn't possible. He told me that it wasn't possible to have the bankruptcy dropped. Once you file, that's it, there's no turning back. My only option was to lump sum pay off the bankruptcy or lose everything. I lost my business, my home, everything in the most humiliating way possible. It was a nightmare I'll never recover from.
