Not very empathetic and was aggressive yelling at me. I am so upset at myself that I didn't see the signs sooner. He then tried to bill me more money after I fired him. Please stay away . The stalking accusation I can believe because he thinks he is never wrong and better than everyone else.

Public Information from the Law society Colin Cameron Leon Lyle was found to have engaged in professional misconduct for: on six occasions, failing to act with courtesy and civility toward other lawyers.the affidavit before submitting it; in 14 instances, communicating in a manner that was abusive, offensive and otherwise inconsistent with the proper without her consent; failing to act with courtesy and civility toward another lawyer; failing to treat the court with candour failing to act with integrity by commissioning an affidavit that contained false information being found in civil contempt of court and ordered to pay costs in the amount of $15,000 and disbursements of $530; and failing to act with courtesy and civility by making derogatory comments 1) The Lawyer is suspended from practice, starting from November 1, 2010, for a period of six months. (2) The Lawyer shall not practise in the area of C.A.S. custody disputes for a period of one year

I know this guy well and he is even despised by former partners. He works out of his apartment. RED Flag. Yes as the other reviews says. I concur did NO WORK WHATSOEVER AND EVEN Hostile.!!!!

I am also a Family Lawyer and since I do not do Wills & Estates and he did, I took the opportunity to “cross examine” him with unique scenarios. Most lawyers did not understand the unique situation my clients were in. Before I even suggested a solution that had worked for some in the past, Colin suggested some options including the same very creative resolution I have seen used in the past. From there I referred a client, who “waxed poetic” about Colin. She described how he had been very creative in suggesting solutions and was so warm and empathetic to deal with. I have kept referring clients to him for Wills & Estates and they have told me of the warmth with which Colin listens and shares his insights with them. Since the clients now refer Colin to their family and friends, then tell me this, I continue to refer people to him. The people I referred to Colin told me he is not only a deeply compassionate lawyer, but creative and a champion for his clients.

Very bad experience with Colin. Rude and mean, lacking compassion. Then refused to provide my file. $2000 down the drain and honestly I have no idea what he did because he didn't file a single document! I HAVE NO PROOF HE DID ANY WORK!

I hired him and he did absolutely nothing. I later found out from Canli.org he had 23 complaints against him. He made it look as if I was difficult. I guess we found out who has the history of being difficult. Please believe me when I say he did nothing after being paid retainer.

Terribly mean. Unpredictable and erratic behavior. Waste of my money and dealing with him had me walking on eggshells. I never knew what mood he was in and could change like Jeckyl and Hyde. Sometimes he gave good advice and was kind, other time mean and harassing. Stay away

Colin Lyle was very helpful with our Family Responsibility case, keeping his focus on the children’s welfare. An agreeable compromise was reached by all parties. He is strict and will call you on any bad behaviour, making sure you understand the law and encouraging you to work towards familial harmony. I like that he didn't make grandiose promises, but kept the goal about setting up a guide for all of us to follow. Would use him again.

This man is abusive towards everybody including his client. He was my lawyer and said things such as: I need to muzzle you. He told me to give my kids to the CAS. He screamed at me for being civil in the courthouse hallway with the CAS lawyer. Even their lawyer felt bad for me, you could see it in their eyes. STAY AWAY!!

This lawyer is one of the worst I have ever met in my life. Not only was he extremely rude during my case conference, this lawyer is a stalker! Stay as far away from this lawyer as possible. I could write a lot more here, but I am unsure of the reprecussoins. But i stand by what I say - stay away from this lawyer as far as possible. Also, I will be filing a complaint with LSUC. This is off the internet for another case against him: "In addition, Colin Lyle has been suspended on an interlocutory basis since December 2009, by which time the law society had what the hearing panel chaired by Carl Fleck described as “an alarming” 22 complaints against him related to his practice that primarily focuses on family law and child protection matters"

Excellent lawyer, very knowledgeable, very honest and would go to great extents to defend you, law for him is not about money it is about justice, he is loyal to his clients if he took your case then he believes in it and will defend you as if he is defending himself, I had a terrible experience with another lawyer who damaged my case severely and made a deal with my ex's lawyer (I found out that later). while Lyle refused to betray me and defended me from his heart , one time he left his office to go to court and prevent my ex's lawyer from filing documents after the deadline if he hadn't done that I would have lost my case, one time I had the CAS taking my kids ,all other lawyers told me it will take months to bring them back, he went and made me do an agreement with the CAS and got me my kids on the same day (I couldn't believe myself),even though if he told me like other lawyers he would have got a lot more money , but he was honest, what more do u want from a lawyer

five star service, excellent specially in CAS cases, he got me my kids after being apprehended in one week, he is not that kind of lawyers that creates more problems to get more work on the contrary he gets things done in quickly and in a very efficient way he has a very high knowledge and can get everything from the books immediately (if needed), he is at court everyday as he has lots of cases in his hands yet he gives each client excellent attention and can remember all the details about your case I recommend him to anyone needs a family lawyer
