I've recently had the opportunity to hire Mr. Powell for my difficult divorce case. He helped me in an efficient and prompt manner. I had hired an attorney before him and almost lost gaining custody of my 4 children. I've read the post and the Mr. Powell I'm dealing with is not the same as what has been posted. I highly recommend him.

Why didn't I check him out online first! He was going to do a modification of child support, since my ex basically doesn't want to pay a penny. He never returned phone calls, no way to leave voice mails, since his inbox was always full. Didn't respond to email, or text...and basically left me worse off then when I first hired him! AND HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO REMORSE for his actions! One little "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way with me!!! DON'T EVER HIRE THIS GUY!!!!

Jesus, where do I begin. Horrible punctuality, no follow up and had to leave numerous messages for 1 call back often a week later, too many mistakes to count. such as missing creditors and almost had to start my case over and re-file as he did not submit doc's on time etc. I had my BK case discharged March 2011, it's now Sept. and I just got a letter in the mail from a creditor who was not added to the BK but should have been!! Nice surprise to come home to today, thanks Jay Powell. I appreciate the horrible job of representing me that I PAID you for! I thought it was bad enough my case was ready to be filed Sept 01 2010 but he didnt actually file until December. It has cost me so much time, money from my taxes that I could have gotten back from the Trustee if my case were filed earlier in the year (prorated return to myself) and many headaches. If I could rate lower than a 1 rating on all of the above I would. He is cheaper than some or most but for good reason to be.

Hired for case last year in Oct 2010, he barley filed case in july 2011 and case was dismissed for information entered wrong on his part and now we can't get a hold of him. Mail box always full no office staff, no returned phone calls or texts. I would like my retaniner back so i could get another lawyer.
