I hired Bill as my attorney in a custody battle. He was primarily concerned with money and did very little to actually help me. I was never late with any of my payments but he threatened me on two occasions that if I didn't pay him $25,000 plus within days he would quit, which he eventually did. He performed poorly in the courtroom and often came unprepared. He truly put my still unresolved case in jeopardy. He, at times, refused to communicate with me and refused to negotiate with the opposing attorney on my behalf. He gave no explanation. He simply said he was not going to do it. I actually question whether he is still competent to practice law. He often forgets things and relays improper messages. I was never sure if he was lying to me or simply forgot entire conversations. He has very poor communication skills with the exception of asking for more money.

Bill helped me remove my first attorney, who was overcharging and doing nothing. I was divorcing a man who wasted years trying to get money from me.Bill used great strategic maneuvers to obtain a good settlement for me. I was continually impressed with his knowledge of human nature and how to use this knowledge to protect me.

Tried utilizing Bill and his office for mediation in my divorce to avoid litigation. Bill in a nutshell is incompetent in that he failed to grasp the details of a proposed settlement and failed to accurately convey then offer to the other side. When he later provided a written summary of a mediation session, his notes were incomplete and he waited so long that he was unable to characterize the session, even admitting that his notes were not adequate. He delivers late and when he finally delivers it is incomplete - avoid this "professional" at all costs.

Do not recommend him. He charges an extreme amount for pushing papers. His associate went to court and did not know the case (later fired). He wrote a lot of letters back and forth to other lawyer, but could not get the job done $20,000 later. The opposing lawyer (and/or client) was not cooperative, Hargreaves did not have the attitude of getting us divorced as quickly as possible. Probably good for cooperative clients. Seems his focus is on making money, not on helping his clients.
