If you are looking for a pit bull lawyer you are in the right place. He is totally intimidating and a complete bully. He calls himself a mediator but had me in tears in his office. I have a special needs child and had a husband who spent 1/2 our lives working internationally. Living in a remote part of France with no family or support, he was critical as to why I did not get a job!! I am not French. He then coerced me into signing an separation agreemnent I did not agree with, by advising his client to remove all and any financial support to me ( partner/ wife of 23yrs) if I didn't.

Derek has represented our corporation for the past ten years. In that time he's acted with a level of professionalism which is difficult to find in civil practice. we hired this lawyer to represent our son on a criminal charge; we were not aware that he had no experience in criminal law in Canada; we paid him good money only to see that he did not show up in court; we had to complain to the law society to get our money back. not a good lawyer.

This is an outstanding Attorney. Mr. Brett is very professional,has integrity and is genuine to his word. He handled a first amendment issue and was so thorough it became Case Law. He was attentive and always available to explain in detail options and procedures. If the need ever arose in the future,I would not hesitate to solicit Derek again.
