Mike Todt, damn where do I start? If I could give this man a 0 rating I would. I met this man in 2011 during the worst time in my life. He took my case probono, I'm sure because he thought it would be an open/shut case. It was not. He was full of himself and refused to do anything I actually needed him to do. He threatened to drop my case after I took it upon myself to change my custody exchange location. My ex husband got my car repossessed leaving me stranded with my son in Indiana during Thanksgiving while he had our daughter and when I got back, my lawyer refused to help me. He eventually did drop my case. I defended myself better than he did anyway. Except after I won, my ex husband wasn't done. His lawyer bragged that because I filed a bar complaint, I wouldn't stand a chance in court. I got raked under the coals from the time I met this man.They split up my kids, ruining their bond and refused to let me speak because I filed a bar complaint against this sorry excuse of a man.

Michael was a family lawyer that was used for minor dealings and also my current divorce. I was not aware that he was dishonest and systematically created charges for items not even disputed. He failed to show up for a family access hearing due to being on vacation. He was not prepared for a hearing on my home which was lost to for closer. Stay away. Those that had good experiences with him does not out weight the ones that he failed. Keep looking!!

Michael Todt was supportive, thoughtful, and incredibly tenacious. He and his firm were quick to respond,were there for my every question and worry and fought for my children and I every step of the divorce. I would recommend Michael Todt to anyone who is going through a divorce. As many obstacles my ex tried to throw my way, Michael shut them down immediately. I was awarded everything my children and I deserved because of his extensive knowledge of the laws and his quality of aggressive presentation in court. He is a strong man who will fight for you and your children. I will always be grateful I was recommended his name.

This is an unethical attorney. They blow through retainers without keeping me abreast of what they were doing, and where they were with the burn rate. He knows you are in a moment of weakness and uses it against you. When I confronted him about them just plowing through money without letting us know as to where we were with our retainers and costs, he flipped out, and now is suing me for the legal costs he incurred but we did agree agree to. He is an unethical business person at best and I, as a single mom and without much money, am left wondering what recourse I have. He gets to just run up legal costs without letting us know where we are, and when I confront him, he can't even provide an invoice or run-down of hours as to how they racked up thousands of dollars in cost to me? What am I supposed to do? And then he sues me, when I challenged him about these things, and ultimately fired him because he wouldn't provide an invoice or financial proof? Unreal. Avoid at all costs. A criminal

Complete wast of time using this guy. Absolutely do not use him. Horrible communication, and if you decide he isn't getting things done or you want to use a different attorney he will act like a complete jerk and make it as difficult as possible.

Mike helped me through a very difficult child custody case. I can't say enough about good it was to have him and his team working with me. He was open and honest with me and made sure that I understood what was happening at all times. If you are looking for strong representation I can't reccomend him enough.

Mike Todt is an excellent lawyer. He took my case to heart and fought for my children and me. His style is a bit abrupt at times, but he tells it straight. I highly recommend Mike to represent you in high conflict family law.

Michael Todt is an excellent attorney. He is knowledgeable and hard-working and truly wants to help the people that are the underdogs. He wants to make a difference by helping single moms succeed and get back on their feet. He has wonderful knowledge of the law and a great work ethic. I truly was happy with my experience with him representing me!

Run and don't look back. Look for other reviews regarding this attorney you will see a real pattern. Keep looking for a good attorney although the chances of success are slim.

I had a custody case in 2011. We weren't married. I used Mr. Todt and he sold me on his words in person to use him. His actions did NOT add up. I lost time with my daughter. I had to conversate through his assistant. They nearly burned through my retainer before I said goodbye. I would not recommend them at all. They should have changed judges for the case and set up custody time until the case was finished

Michael Todt represented me when my x-husband was trying to get out of paying orthodontic bills on my daughter. The case lasted 3 years and Todt came through on all 8 askings, including 50% of the lawyer fees that were caused due to my X not wanting to pay. Todt is one of the few ethical and committed lawyers that I know. Excellant family lawyer.

I am coming to a finalization of a hellacious divorce after 2.5 years. My exhusband manipulated my children and is abusive. Michael Todt and staff supported me 24x7(yes, communication daily), maintained the course and we saved my daughter. Mr. Todt was clear with his communications and direction. Stayed with the truth and we prevailed. He takes a holistic view striving for results and outcome with staff that is experienced and an asset to his firm. My exhusband moved my children out of the county, would not allow me contact, suppreased my daughter, emotionally and verbally abused my daughter and empowered my son to be abusive too. Working through the programs/system and not allowing me to give up my daughter is with me 100% today. This firm stood by me time after time. My daughter is blossoming into a young lady getting stronger every day and is happy. Mr. Todt is professional, honest, consistant and persistant, what you need in a lawyer. Before ever using this attorney, do your homework on him first.The general community expects lawyers to exhibit the highest standards of honesty and integrity, and lawyers have a duty not to engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, or interference with the administration of justice. I truely do not believe that the other ratings on this attorney are true. Its just a paycheck for him.

Mike is one of the most expensive lawyers in St. Charles County - no doubt he learned from his father. He is super aggressive however he is known for taking it too far. On my custody case, I have to live with my ex long after Mike Todt has been paid. In my case he didn't know the law and the judge called him out on that in front of me. In my case, he didn't prepare my case - his staff did and he would bill me for having 2 lawyers at trial when the other lawyer did nothing but hand Mike exhibits. When he submitted his bill in Court I could see the look of shock on the judge's face and the judge didn't give me any attorney fees despite Mike's promise I would get fees back. Now, I have a judgment I only partially won and a huge legal bill I can never pay. His bill is causing me to meet with bankruptcy lawyers. He knew I had little money but he billed me for multiple attorneys many times - not just trial time.

I thank God I had the right attorney because we were up against a very tough situation. I was recommended to Mike Todt from another client that was very happy with his services. I can not begin to say how amazing I think he is. The communication about my case was always prompt. When I had a question, it was answered immediately. The staff kept me informed each step of the way. I felt he was very trustworthy. He stood up for what is right. I truly thank Mike for his dedication, hard work and care in helping me through a bad divorce. He stood by my side, believed in me and my children. I just returned home from court. I am very thankful for having Mike on my side. If you want to win, hire Mike. If you want to lose, go elsewhere. This is the second time I have used Mr. Todt as my attorney. Both times, I returned from court with more than what I asked for. He will look after your best interest and he will think of things you have not thought of. I tell everyone I know who to call if they are serious about winning.

I met Mike Todt at the worst possible time of my life; just after my daughter had caught her mother (my stay at home wife) in an ongoing affair. I had been referred to Mike from a lawyer friend of mine and I was told he would be the exact attorney I needed due to the fact that I owned a couple of businesses and had seen some success. I visited many lawyers in the area before seeing Mike and within minutes of our first meeting I was a fan of Mike Todt. He showed compassion while he was very aggressive.
Exactly the kind of lawyer I needed. After a few short weeks of his leadership I had custody of my children, which is really unheard of if you are the man in a divorce. He was a great coach to me and I am a true believer in him now. I would recommend Mike C. Todt to anyone with any kind of assets they would like to protect in a divorce situation. I can't say enough about Michael Todt. He has been my attorney for three years. My ex-husband is an attorney and had intentionally drug our cas out. When I ran out of money Michael stood by me and continued to represent me for all the appeals. He listens and he cares. He is an awesome attorney.

DO A 180*. RUN FAR AND RUN FAST! If you are using him; find someone else. I assure you there isn't an attorney out there that hasn't heard the horror stories about him. There is a reason that he was fired from his father's own law firm. He should have followed his true passion in life and stuck to bigfoot monster trucks and being a mechanic. It's about the only thing he can relate to besides money because it certainly is NOT the correct practice of quality law! He is aggressive and verbally abuse toward his clients and frequently threatens to withdraw from cases at critical points (right before trial) if he doesn't receive more money. He has sued 24 former clients for non-payment which should tell you something about his satisfaction rate and ability to keep a tab running, over-charging for mal-practice of law
