I hired him for a divorce. Judge gave me a protective order against my ex, the order was violated with his family harsassing me at work. The Travis County D.A. couldn do anything for me because Mr.Boyett typed it up wrong. I was fired from my job because of it. He blew through my $2500 retainer plus 2 payments of $250. A voicemail he listened to cost me about $50. I never got my divorce, and the firm still charged me almost $2000. So altogether about $5000 for a botched protective order and no divorce. I would NEVER recommend this man to anyone. He's all about money and not about his clients. I got a divorce with full custody of my kids for $1000.

I hired him for a contested divorce. He was responsive, professional, gathered the right information, and knew how to negotiate an effective agreement. His billing practices were very good (didn't bill for time not spent), good price, kept me informed on retainer balance weekly, good support staff. Very, very pleased.

We did an adoption through this lawyer/firm with the assumption they knew how to handle adoptions, so they said. He blew through our retainer before the baby was born. He misspelled names on the surrender/paperwork. He filed the paperwork under Louisiana law instead of Texas law which is what we had told him to do from the beginning. We had to get the birthparents to resign the surrender as a result. He forgot to have us fill out IMPORTANT paperwork that we needed to get cleared to return home. He charged us for an email that he claimed to have responded to but in the end he never responded to said email and claimed he accidently deleted it. I would NEVER recommend this lawyer for ANYTHING much less an adoption.
