Ms rintoul appointed herself to represent incapacitated elders . Mrs rintoullinsisted they were competent. When a judge ruled they were not she resigned and billed them over 70k. The law society of upper canada did nothing they protected her despite the fact that she was aware her clients were being taken advantage of and huge sums of money taken Mrs rintoul only cared about how much she could bill her incapacitated clients, not at all for their well being. I am disgusted. She is allowed to practice law. Shame on her, and her firm and the law society of upper canada

Ms. Rintoul was very happy to take $25, 000 of our of our hard earned money in a case she said was smoke and mirrors.When we reached discoveries she folded.We later learned through a judge that morally what happened was wrong but in law nothing could be done for our family.He recommended that we don't incur anymore costs.

I would rate her in the negative, if it were possible. In view of her low peer rating (2.9/5) and other real client review (1/5) notwithstanding her extensive self promotion over the years, it is hard to believe that she has been able to continue in practice, especially in litigious matters involving individuals.. She has absolutely no client or file handling skills, does not listen to or attempt to correctly review documentation and/or understand the facts, does not seek or follow client instructions provided and does not research the law or advocate on behalf of her client. In fact, her arrogance seems to facilitate her believing that she can disregard legal requirements, including her interpreting reports without engaging a proper expert and compromising her client's position accordingly, actually agreeing with opposing counsel's adverse position, without telling her client, all the while continuing to bill massive amounts of fees for very negative service (worse than none).

This lawyer goes to extreme lengths to aggrandize herself; appearing on numerous websites, ensuring that she is presented in a favourable light. Her peer rating (Martindale) is only 2.9 out of 5; yet, she claims to be one of the "best lawyers" of 2010. When dealing with her, she is cold, intimidating and uncommunicative. A website shows that she "teaches" other lawyers about awareness of elders' needs. However, an elderly acquaintance of mine went to this lawyer to have her will written, with disastrous results. My acquaintance is well over 80 years, English is her 2nd language, and she has a large estate. She was afraid to ask questions while in her office; when she did attempt to discuss something, Ms. Rintoul raised her hand, like a traffic cop. The result was a will written in archaic, convoluted language, undecipherable by any of the woman's friends. It referenced items which had no relation to the woman's actual situation. Her bill was a whopping $800.+ Heartbreak followed
