This lawyer persuaded my immigrant widow friend to take a family court option instead of taking under her late husband's will in an estate settlement case. This lawyer filed the court application before full disclosure by the estate. When full disclosure was finally revealed, she lost all advantage in an equalization of property. He then advocated an application to re-elect under the will, which was lost. This outcome has lost her the right to live in her matrimonial home and roughly $500,000 as well as costing her over $45,000 in legal fees. She is now left in the position where she has nowhere permanent to live and insufficient income on which to live.

John Spears was recommended to mediate a brother's dispute of his mother's will, for a well-known Burlington accountant/executor intent on undervaluing her house (proven by subsequent sale), obscuring assessment (the beneficiaries had to order it assessed) and selling it conditionally upon it's being knocked down without being assessed.
Spears divided the family, issuing cheques directly, though intended in trust for a disabled beneficiary. As a result the disabled beneficiary had all provincial income cut, and has to petition for redress. Spears still refuses to forward copies of the cheques despite pending professional society censure. For this he billed $10,000

terrible lawyer took me 8 years to get my divorce. He did nothing let my ex husband lie to the court didnt submit evidence lost paperwork and forgot to submit the orders to be taken out Never use this lawyer
