As someone involved with the travesty that is NB Family Law system I was relieved when I found Ms. Parish and was told she could see me immediately. She was very engaged and assured me she would do everything possible to help. That was the first and last time I felt heard and respected by her. I truly wish I had known then about this site. I can echo much of what has been said. The review from 11/24/20 is very similar to my experience. She was often rude, cold and unempathetic, didn't follow through with plans or listen to my requests, made decisions without my knowledge seemingly in collusion with the opposing lawyer, she was ill prepared at meetings, sent an ineffective subordinate to court instead of showing up herself, preferred to argue with me instead of supporting me or explaining anything in detail and would in fact become very annoyed when I pushed for information. I was actually worse off after hiring her. Do yourself and favor and find someone else to take your case.

I was rushed to court on false accusations of assault for the custody of my children. Carley Parish was my sister in law. I called the conflict out but it was too late. I lost the interim custody of my children…her niece and nephew.
I filed a complaint with the law society only Carley was on the board and the complaint needed to be investigated by a 3rd party..
9 months later the claim is warranted and in June of this year said lawyer gets appointed to president of the law society of New Brunswick.
In July she is found guilty of breaching conflict of interest only no sanctions or punishment, not even a written apology is offered and 2 years later I am still without equal custody of my children.. Don't Hire Ms Parish unless you has a slam dunk case . She is lazy and greedy and you can't trust what she may be saying to the other side . She will tell you one thing and then change her mind within the next 5 mins . She will not work for you . We have spent well over 68 thousand dollars on her and lost our case without even getting to testify , because she would hold off the case and make something up that we had to so that our statements were never in record ... just the other sides . It been the most stressful year of my life and she made it worse . You would think paying your lawyer a lot of money would at least keep them honest or working for you , but sadly that is not the case with Carley. I don't know how she sleeps at night . DO NOT hire her ... seriously! She will rob you blind and you will get no satisfaction . She is too interested in her political career ,and she often makes terrible mistakes that will ruin your case.

Should have BELIEVED the ratings! Note she has way more than any in the area. Feels like she is working for my ex. Ignores emails she's ashamed to answer like an eight year old. BUT bills 1/10 hr at 325 for each and every one. Zero motivation, knowledge or competence. Agrees to every demand and swallows every fib from opposition.

Carley draws out cases looking for more money, my case should have been settled so quickly and was not complicated. She MADE us go to Court, said that that was the only way, she never listed to what we wanted EVER. Then she hits us with a bill well over $20,000. If you want to throw your money and dignity away on a money hungry, dominating bully, then Carley is for you – be prepared to pay with no return

As someone already said, I hate to write a bad review but this was my first legal experience (doing exciting things like getting married and getting a land deed transferred), and I was made to feel like a crook! Yes, the lawyer was very accessible and the office was always pleasant and helpful , but they did not tell us ahead of time it was cash only for our civil ceremony and then hounded us for payment after a couple days to make me feel like I was skipping out on the bill. The clerical staff did not communicate well on our land deed transfer and refused to send off the paperwork without payment and we almost missed the 6 month deadline to get it finalized! So twice in two months we were made to feel like we were difficult clients. I have an icky feeling about lawyers now.....

Ms. Parish knows her stuff. She successful completed my file in a timely fashion and I was very pleased with the outcome. I would highly recommend her.

I hate to write a bad review but she was terrible. She was cold and gave poor legal advice (in hind site). I gained more legal tips from friends and family during my divorce than from her. She did not fight for me. She charged huge fees often without an invoice or explanation of the costs. I was so distraught at the time I just paid it without question. I would not recommend her. sorry

Felt absolutely pushed out the door during "30 minute sessions", which lasted an average of 9 minutes.When I got back in my car, I couldn't help but wonder what had just happened. WOW. Of course had to pay a minimum 30 minutes.I actually had her say my ex was "entitled by law" to half my pension, even though his lawyer had submitted document stating he would not be asking for a share of my pension. They changed their mind when he was reminded of his " entitlement." Sold down the river then presented with a bill. I know of another couple going through the same thing with the same 2 lawyers I and my ex secured. If you would like a recommendation, use my ex's lawyer! She worked for him . I was on my own.

Doesn't meet with you before court as promised. Doesn't keep you a informed on your file. Sells you out to the other side if you question her questionable attitude toward you and your case. Records time of calls to her and length all the while advertising 24 hour service. Puts you off to another lawyer in the firm without notifying you first. LACKS PEOPLE SKILLS BIG TIME.

Carley's favourite line is "remember, I told you", when she had not told me anything, including the court date. Nothing more frustrating than communicating with this lawyer. Her bill was over the top. A very poor experience.

Very bad experience with Carley, not showing up to court, sending someone else that doesn't know the client in her place, not listening to the client, not call with updated information. and so on. I would not recommend her.

Likes to argue with clients and give up cases. ALWAYS sided, with the delinquent, neglectful parent when she was suppose to be defending the one who is actually raising the child.

I had been dealing with another lawyer for almost 2 years with no resolution what-so-ever, and $8000 later, in a custody matter. I decided to change to Carley, as I'd heard great things. Within 2 months, my case was settled in my favor. Without her, I'm sure this would still be ongoing. She responded to all my emails personally and promptly. Quickly fit me in for appointments. With the other lawyer, I was only able to reach her assistant, who never knew what was going on. Carley listened to what I wanted, didn't make decisions without consulting me. She didn't waste any time on non-issues, and I felt comfortable paying her, as I know she worked hard, and the results showed. Best of all, she had my daughters best interest at heart and never lost sight of that. I would strongly recommend Carley Parish as a lawyer from personal experience. If you're concerned with bad comments on here, don't be. If you need a shark. - she is it.

After giving her so much time and so much money, I end up with nothing. Losses on every court date. She never knew any details even though I gave her so much info and prep work. I did her job for her. The bill kept getting bigger for no reason and I could never get an answer as to why it kept growing. She doesn't have the knowledge. She needs more help, and less client load. I was extremely disappointed after spending my literal last dollar on her. I still came away empty handed.

Believe me I have dealt with Carley Parish concerning divorce. She is the worst lawyer I have ever come across,for example she left me in her office one day and forgot I was there. I could go on and on about her poor skills but I just want to forget it ever happened. She has no concern for people all she cares about is money. She takes all she can get and she does nothing to earn it. I am still trying to get things straightened out from her mess.

Carly wouldnt adress judge on support.Kept saying she was only dealing with access..Asked her 2 separate court dates,,she kept giving same answer.Then she kept telling me to write visits down and give her to let court know what was going on,,,she wouldnt even look at it,,and it would take me hours to write all my info down neat for her on court day..Last going off,,she told me to be in court half hour early to go over stuff before court,,well last time i never got to se her at all,,She met me in court room without talking.During court i was telling her things to tell judge and she wouldnt.Kept saying it wasnt important..So i had speak up for my ownself.After court i find out she was too busy talking to my ex before court(he doesnt have a lawyer)! She then tells me she didnt need to talk to me before court cause she talked 5 mins on phone to me day before court!!! I let her go! She only thinks of herself.She doesnt speak for anyone.or return calls.Shes a horrible lawyer!!!

I went to court March 2009, I got divorced,there is a lien against our family house in back taxes that my husband never paid. She never told me or the judge, she was hired for 3 years or longer and in that time never did one thing to help me out, you would not believe the mess I am in. Then wanted to bill me for 17,000 dollars. I called at least 3 times maybe 4 reguesting a bill Dec 2009 and Jan 2010. I meet with her and Dave Lutz Jan 11 2010. No bill wanting to buy my family home , with the lien on it for $120,000.00 . They also advised me to have another lawyer look at for a second oppion. In 2009 I had 4 different lawyers look at my mess they all told me the same thing, I only had 30 days to appeal the divorce, which Carley never explained, she never explained anything to me ever. I was also told by 4 lawyers that the only way you can get your money is to sue Dave Lutzs Firm, none of the 4 lawyers would sue Dave Lutz`s firm. So I was busy lawyer hunting,(oh boy) is that fun.Wanda
