I hired Stacey to review a termination package. His first demand letter had several mistakes which I had to correct. This should have been a red flag for me. He was more concerned about wrapping the matter up and getting paid instead of paying attention to the details to ensure that I received the best settlement possible. His focus was on his payment even before anything was settled. He mumbles, is very arrogant and rude to deal with. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Stacey was the third lawyer that I had hired to represent me, after the previous two didn't achieve anything. Stacey is very different. He is not only the author of Canadian Employment Law, he is also the most efficient one, direct to the point. He is the toughest one, well known by HR people, and he takes care of his client all by himself. There is no junior lawyers under him. That's the big difference comparing with other big employment law firms on Google. After he spoke with me for 45 minutes, he found the best way to break through. He didn't need to ask for a lot of document and he didn't bill hours to review them. His fee structure is aligned with his client's best interest. My problem was solved very quickly with a great result, and I only have to meet with him twice and exchange some emails. He's not just a tough fighter and negotiator, he got great strategy to make a deal. He answered my emails during the holidays. I strongly recommend him to those who need help.

From the moment I met Stacey I knew I was in good hands. Helistened to my and situation and laid out the odds and potential outcome. When we got the settlement there were no surprises as he was bang on. During the negotiations he was relentless and continually pushed my case forward. At no time did I have to chase him for updates. I would strongly recommend his services

I found Stacey here on this rating site and thought the service would be top notch. I was very disappointed in the service. We had only one meeting, in where he spent most of the time showing me a book that showcased how many cases he won and how much he got for his clients. He never looked at any of my documents I had nor my employment contract to familiarize himself with my case. My case took 6 months to resolve after I kept calling and trying to check in on the status. His team moves very slowly and they are not quick to reply. I did receive a small settlement in the end but I feel it didn't need to take so long. Next time I will work to find a more engaged lawyer that takes initiative.

After 27 years in a municipal environment & faced with egregious inequities in my specialized health & safety position, it was recommended that I hire a constructive dismissal attorney.I found the perfect rep in Stacey. My case wasn't prestigious but Stacey & his staff treated it as such. His professionalism, advice & guidance were matched with acuity, honesty, respect & a scalpel-like tenacity that was communicated in all his correspondence. I was impressed that he didn't patronize;he contacted me as soon as he received responses, liaised with me to ensure all facts in communications were accurate & took the time to explain what I could expect in the process. Were it not for Stacey,I would not have ended up with any settlement & the settlement he secured for me was beyond what I thought possible. And on top of his expertise, he also has a good sense of humour. I'm elated I engaged Stacey & I have no qualms recommending him to anyone who requires an employment lawyer.

Stacey was aggressive in pushing for a fair settlement, and obtained a significantly greater sum when I was ready to settle for less. He did not accept “no” as an answer from the Bank. He guided employment tax strategies and had the employer commit in writing to guard my integrity. This matter was finalized in less than one month, exceeding our expectations. I highly recommend Stacey.

When you need the services of a lawyer, that specializes in Employment Law, you goal should be, to find the very best Employment Lawyer available. That is the situation, that I found myself in last year. I had worked on the sales team, at company that decided that I should not get paid commission on a large account that I brought in. By the December 2016, they wanted to settle. In the end, I won both the moral victory, as well as the commission that was owed to me.
Stacey Ball is the Lawyer you want in your corner. He is experienced, talented and one of the toughest negotiators that I have every seen in action.

From the start I was impressed by how Stacey patiently listened to my objectives, assessed my position and anticipated my former employer's actions. He rapidly sited key precedents that served as the foundation of my case, and his insight and strategic approach gave me a high degree of confidence in the outcome. My case was particularly challenging because my former employer was selling the company and had less of a vested interest in an equitable resolution, yet Stacey was more than up to the challenge. As others have indicated, while professional, he is readily able to be aggressive in the face of aggressive tactics. Even after the opponent threw a couple of curve balls that complicated and extended the situation, Stacey remained committed to my case throughout and was steadfast in protecting my interests. I can happily say his persistence and superior strategy won the day and I am very satisfied with the outcome. As a result I've referred a number of friends and colleagues.

I recently required the services of Stacey Ball after being terminated without cause after 10 years of exemplary performance. I found Stacey to be professional, tenacious, aggressive and fast. After just two meetings he was able to secure further compensation for me. Additionally Stacey helped restore my self esteem. He showed great empathy and understanding. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone in this position.

I sought Stacey's help when I was dismissed without cause by a blue chip lawfirm I used to work for. I was very concerned about the "David and Goliath" fight I would have to go through with my former employer. However, Stacey put me at ease. He answered every question and concerns I had with much patience. He is very knowledgeable. He definitely knows his stuff as he wrote about it and taught employment law as well. The demand letter he submitted on my behalf was concise, authoritative and done with great skill. It produced results more than what I expected and was settled within 3 weeks. I higly recommend Stacey to anyone having any employment issues.

Quick to take payment, not willing to provide a contract for services. Don't waste your time. He doesn't review your file. Asks the same questions every time you meet with him. He could at least pretend he remembers his client's file when you are in the meeting, instead he leafs through the file in front of you trying to figure out what's going on.

I was wrongfully dismissed by a major media and entertainment company. I was referred to Mr. Ball by a media colleague who spoke highly of him based on their own experience. Mr. Ball did not disappoint! He consistently demonstrated an intimate knowledge of all applicable laws, excellent communication skills with both myself and the corporation I was in dispute with and was tenacious with following through on getting me the results my rights afforded me. Mr. Ball successfully represented me and my concerns to my utmost satisfaction. So much so that I have, since, recommended Mr. Ball to at least 10 other colleagues going through the similar challenges. Each and every one of said colleagues were also completely satisfied with the results that Mr. Ball had produced for them as well. Whenever I have any labour law based challenges, Mr. Stacey R. Ball is my first and most preferred choice to represent me, without question. I highly recommend him and his staff for your legal needs.

I highly recommend Mr. Ball . I retained Mr. Ball to pursue a claim against a major American corporation. They believed they could pay me considerably less because of certain “agreement”. Mr. Ball creatively used the law to navigate around the employer’s position to obtain me a very positive result. He was creative and aggressive, as well as cost effective. I chose Mr. Ball because of his extensive experience, and detailed legal knowledge (he wrote a major treatise on employment law). I made the correct choice.-from Toronto

I retained Stacey during a complicated and very unpleasant situation with a former employer. From the beginning, Stacey was at once very direct, as well as compassionate and sincere in his desire to help. Stacey is unrelenting and aggressive in his pursuit of a fair outcome for his clients. He is always prepared to engage in litigation if he feels it is warranted --- a very important quality in plaintiff's counsel. As a lawyer myself, I was very impressed with Stacey's encyclopedic knowledge of the law, which he applies to great strategic advantage to his client's cases. I am grateful to have met Stacey at a time when I very much needed his counsel. I would not hesitate to recommend Stacey to anyone needing a strong, results -oriented employment lawyer.

The company I was with got bought out by a larger US firm. They went through a round of cuts, and they let me go.
They offered me a ridiculous package and didn't want to negotiate. I engaged Stacey who concluded they weren't even in the ballpark and we should send a counter offer. This got them to the table. We went back and forth with them several times and sent a claim letter. They increased their $ offer to a substantial amount more than where we started. The claim letter highlighted several cases similar to mine which was a great move and made them more agreeable to negotiations.
Stacey is very aggressive, a MUST in employment relations. He is also very tenacious and wasn't prepared to settle for anything less than a fair amount. He quickly summed up the situation in a 15 min meeting, without spending days and dollars reviewing.
My legal bill was paid easily with the additional amount that Stacey negotiated. I wouldn't hesitate to use Stacey again or recommend him to friends
