All I can say is that God is omnipresent. The smear campaigns that this GAL pursues again good people with total deception and lies while lining her pockets with thousands of $$$$$ are more than unconscionable. There is no doubt Carol Swenson will be held accountable in a courtroom at a much higher elevation someday, especially for putting children in harms way. There is at least one child who was murdered while she was designated as the GAL ... her excuse is that she was just doing a favor for an attorney friend representing the murderer with PTSD. There are countless other children who have suffered emotional & physical trauma while this GAL fabricated lies to protect the abuser. Again God is omnipresent, and my family will be standing ground in that courtroom at a higher elevation ... especially my uncle who was a major general in the army over all chaplains worldwide even during WWII. When someone as evil as this GAL crosses your path, somehow keep your faith no matter what

Was encouraged to hire a GAL during nasty custody dispute and Carol was recommended by my attorney. She did nothing to help the process and let a teenager (my child) drive the entire decision. She threatened me with never seeing my child again multiple times, even after all false allegations by my ex were disproved.

Carol Swenson is a great GAL. She could see through all of the BS expounded by my Ex due to her experience. I am submitting this because I see input from my "ex-wife" who should be awarded the Ms. Narcissist Award of the Century. After multiple frivolous DHL complaints for even sexual abuse of my biological sons), her approx. 10 attorneys (I wonder why?), multiple POs (even on Christmas Day when I was to get the Boys. Note, all PO were dropped by the Judge), etc. etc., she has not changed. Dr. X (Custody Evaluator) testified she will never change yet she has 50% custody of the Boys. Emotional Abuse is too common in her home due to intense interrogation/coaching...

Lazy, unethical and worthless as an advocate to a minor child. She is a man-hating shill for plaintiff moms. My daughter who just turned 18 despised her as a GAL. She never took my daughter's complaints about her mom seriously - instead insisting I had coached her on what to say. Pure fabrication. Also, her bare minimum required duty was to visit both the mom's house and mine. Here, 7 years later and with a daughter who is thankfully no longer subject to her deceitful influence, I am still waiting for her to make that visit. But it certainly did not prevent her from making highly opinionated and flawed recommendations at the time. If you see this woman's name in any way associated with your case, fight it tooth and nail. She is the absolute worst that the corrupt divorce industry has to offer in Tulsa County.

Carol Swenson was the GAL for my children since 8/2012, in my divorce. It was an agreed order since I wanted a GAL to protect them from a very abusive father, who had threatened to kill me multiple times. I could not have been more wrong. Carol Swenson was not a voice for the children, and she made false statements continually in court. Basically she advocated for an abusive father, and she used very cruel tactics to turn things upside down to put me in a negative light. I am a strong Christian, and there is no doubt that Carol Swenson will be held accountable beyond this world! Carol only saw my children twice in 2015, and yet she was allowed to ramble on and on in court ... the latest hearing for two+ hours. In comparison a certified play therapist who saw the children every two weeks was shut-down with incessant objections. My children have been disciplined with excessive force by their father, coming back to me with bruises and emotionally traumatized. Never hire C. Swenson

As others have stated Carol Swenson is a very corrupt GAL. Recently the legislature in Oklahoma passed Senate Bill 460, which was ammended to Title 43, Sec. 2. SB 460 now requires all court professionals like GALs to receive training. It took affect Nov. 1, 2015. If you have a serious situation where a GAL has made false statements in court, etc., you can call the Attorney Generals Office in OKC, and ask for the Victim Services Unit. The VSU will probably ask you to write a letter documenting your experience. They are tracking serious problems with GALs in Oklahoma, for example if there is significant bias, especially when one party on a divorce case is paying significant funds to the GAL. Although required training may be a small step to deal with the corruption of GALs in this state, at least it is in the right direction. You can also file a complaint with the Oklahoma Bar Association, and get a packet with all forms needed. It may take more effort, but it's worth it!

My divorce has been in litigation for over 4.5 years. Carol Swenson is the GAL, and it was an "Agreed" order. Therefore, the GAL was not "ordered by the judge". She has been unbelievably bad and made serious false statements in court. I am divorcing a man with diagnosed PTSD. I have a right to divorce an abusive spouse and protect our children by Oklahoma statutes and by the 4th and 14th Amendments - U.S. Constitution. Carol Swenson has billed >$50,000 and charges $200/hr even to read email. My children were steered to unsupervised visits because of her false statements in court. In 2015 they have endured at least 8 incidents where their father disciplined them by inappropriate physical force to drag or hang them upside down by their ankles. Two children's counselors have reported this to the GAL. Yet she does nothing to protect them, as my PTSD spouse is paying her $$$$. My precious kids (ages 5 & 10) have suffered severe emotional trauma because of this GAL.

I can't say enough negative things about Ms. Swenson. I wish I'd found this site before getting involved with her. After I got to know her and see how she conducts herself professionally I couldn't help but wonder, is she evil? stupid? mentally ill? I don't know if any (or all) of those things are true but I eventually reached the conclusion that she's simply a parasite in search of a host. In my experience Carol has create strife (no matter the ultimate cost to the families/children involved) in order, it seems, to run up her billable hours. She is a bad person and a poor reflection on her profession. I can't help but wonder about the true origin of her positive reviews.

If i could rate -50 I would! Evil to the bone!! She made false statements in my case creating stresses for my children. Doesn't WANT to do work she has taken on! If you have an eadu divorcce, save your money and use the legal aid services out there available for $300; this attorney will ADD problems rather than SOLVE them!!

The decision to hire Carol (and Brian) Swenson to represent me in my divorce was one of the best decisions I could have made. Carol is professional, compassionate and a blessing to my children. She is honest and diligent. Why I didn't always agree with her opinions she always did what she thought was best. I am shocked to see this low scores written by bitter parents who due to their own mistakes and actions lost their kids and blame a kind fair attorney. It's pathetic takes some responsibility for your actions and don't blame Carol.

Carol Swenson is the GAL for my two young children. My case has been in Tulsa courts for 22 months, and I still do not even have a temporary order for child support. Swenson did not even present or review the physical and emotional abuse that I endured during my marriage for 14 years. Instead during the hearing all she did was show pictures of my husband holding my youngest child. She misrepresented the date and the circumstances of the pictures. They were at a basketball game where there was an off duty police officer as the visit supervisor, and the pictures were taken in Fall, 2011, by my husband not in Fall, 2012, which he falsely stated. All she asked me was "did you reconcile". She asked me this twice to which I replied "NO". Of course she did not ask why ... A) husband checked out of an in-house program for anger management only halfway through; psychiatrist at Brookhaven called me because husband signed a release, and the psychiatrist said if my husband checked out it

My attorney said getting an my daughter a GAL would be the best money I ever spent. That she would give my daughter a voice. I had hard evidence such as photos of the abuse that occurred to me. She said it looked horrible and that he needed anger management. Or counseling. I agree that he does. She gave me this great scenario about her plans. None of which happened. The day we went into court and she ran up hugging the my ex husbands attorney I realized all the reviews I had read were true. She doesn't care what is right or wrong. She told me It was my fault because I had hidden his abuse and not pressed charges. She also said he is acting the part of the good husband for his new wife so he won't hurt my daughter. There is no plan in place to help him be a better father or person. He will not receive help. Instead they will just send my child with him and hope he doesn't lash out. What of he does? My daughter is being put at risk due to her lack of care or integrity.

If you are considering retaining Ms. Swenson, take some advice from someone who learned the hard way. Run!! I retained Swenson to represent me in a divorce matter. She was rude, condescending and did anything but advise me, her client, on legal matters. She was awful. She was unresponsive. She charged me an exorbitant amount for horrible service. She doesn't respond to questions - she purposely avoids them. She doesn't verify opposing counsel's documentation or child support calculations. She leaves that to the client (but you will be charged for it!). You would be better served to save the thousands of dollars she will charge you (and I mean thousands), and represent yourself. How she conducts business could truly be considered highway robbery. She needs to do everyone a favor and retire. Swenson is the type of attorney that gives all attorneys a bad name!

You better hope she isn't appointed to your case in anyway. Because if you don't know who made the deal to put her on your case then you or any other court expert has ZERO INFLUENCE. She takes corruption and family-child welfare to a unmatched low while pretending and posturing her sympathy of a known court child protector.She did some pro bono work while she tried to sort the massive self mental conflicts. Whatever she does, make sure it is in writing, because she has her own agenda above you and will lie, distort at every opportunity.(on the phone, behind closed doors and through other persons) Especially don't let her go anywhere behind closed doors without YOU. She will relentlessly pester everybody without cause, including your attorney until she finds a special event she can make the case go to her "paid-off" position. She was hammered in the military and really knows how to give it back to you now. I would change venues before I would let her anywhere near.

I have yet to read a good review of Ms. Swenson. I have to agree with every rating and review that I have seen of her so far. From my experience even when she was presented with true facts and proof of her clients lies, her mode of operation was to become even ruder and to use more bullying tactics to further her clients agenda which was not for the good of the childen.

Do not use her as a mediator. Nasty judgmental woman who inserts her personal opinions into mediation. Uses her personal belief system rather than facts. Makes judgments with no data. Pushy, dismissive to women and completely biased.

Observation of her in action: A steamroller and a court cleaner. Brought into to re-frame bad mothers with pathetic medical/drug and psychological issues to overcome. She strips their impact on the legal community insanity and then seals her portions and the mothers only to leave allegations of any father out in the open. All the while typically pretending to protect children. Ms "Golden Gavel" and ally of Hendrix and Murdock all get my Vaccume "cleaner" award against the safety and protection of the Tulsa public. Promises and posturing mean nothing- she will lie, distort while attacking you rather than letting the court experts have their rightfull influence on the courts. I can detect no empathy only strategic impression management or manipulations from her. She seems very comfortable in the family and domestic of the infamous family and domestic courts of Tulsa.
