Totally unprepared when in court, she had a hard speak or react to the judges questions, she failed to meet deadlines for paper work, asking for unnecessary extensions. I am highly organized and met my deadlines, she or her staff modified my input and deleted important information prior sending out. I believe these were intentional to delay, the settlement process and my divorce started with settlement agreement document we wanted processed and became a battle of a lifetime for me. Her billing practice is to start easy in the first month and then hit you for an more each month and more than $5000/month after. Several attorneys in the south bay refuse to work with her, and after you have been tainted with her work not get involved to try to help you resolve your case if you had hired her. She will insist that your divorce will take at least 10 months, will be vague about her process and especially her strategy to resolve. I discovered with her it is fight first never compromise.

In my opinion,Ms.Barberis is a "thief in a polyester pantsuit." If there is any money left in your bank account she will find a way to get it. I finally had enough and checked her background and discovered her reputation. Spent well over 100,000 dollars for her to drag things out with unnecessary and repetitive "discovery" and not accomplish anything positive. Her comment to me was "you could not control him for 40 years, how do you expect me to". I thought that is what I paid her for. Before hiring an attorney, check them out very thoroughly. As for me, I say "good riddance".

Unless you have deeeeeep pockets, DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY. She did a poor job of getting me a decent settlement, but a great job in taking my money. Billed me for **** correspondence with opposing attorney. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FIRM. Ask another attorney their opinion of this attorney. They all say the same thing - she is aggressive like a snake but very very very very expensive.
