Kim Varner is the best criminal defense attorney in Greenville, SC--period. He works magic both in and out of the courtroom. I have used Kim for over 20 years and have referred over a dozen people to him during this time. Not once has he failed to do exactly what he said he would do. In fact, he often has exceeded expectations. Most attorneys simply will tell you what they think you want to hear--over promising and under delivering--but Kim will tell you like it is. He has all the necessary connections and knows how to get things done. He will be the first to tell you if he doesn't believe he would best to defend you. He is selective regarding those he chooses to defend, and he doesn't take on more than he can handle. Many "big name" attorneys agree to defend most anyone who walks in with money, and typically, their clients' cases are relegated to assistants. If Kim agrees to defend you, you will work directly with him, and you will have The Best of the best defending you.

Kim Varner is a scam artist. He only tries to better his position in the Greenville Court system, as oppose to helping his clients. He's too afraid to challenge the judges and local officers for their corruptness, in fear of preventing him from losing for future cases. He also is never in the office, and returns calls weeks after messages being left; Also his assistant Tonya is unprofessional as anyone I've ever spoken too, and has no courtesy or respect when it comes to his clients. I don't know if Kim knows how she speaks to his clients, but if he does it's just a reflection of what Kim cares about: taking clients money and not giving anything back in return.

Very poor values, talks about his wife being a crazy bipolar and he wished he could have women just stay the weekend with him and leave. He represented my ex. He told my lawyer personal things. That should have been kept between him and my ex. To my benefit. Such as he would say my ex was a dumbass, laughing about him using him for a job reference. Sad. My ex was mentally ill and addicted to drugs which needed care for not degraded. Your win could be your biggest lost in the future with this lawyer.

Kim Varner is amazing! He is worth every penny and more. He represented me in a restraining order case, he was so perfect in this case I never even had to testify. He owned the courtroom. He had my absolute best interest at heart, and made sure I walked out a winner. He is definitely the BEST attorney I have ever seen. I would highly recommend him.

Kim Varner represented me in a divorce and did a great job he had my best interest at the fore front I talked to several attorneys and walked away not sure about them. I guess in my younger years I had a lot of attorneys. I was no angel in my 20"s and 30"s so I had quite of few. Some was great and some after they got paid did not care. I did read some not so good reviews on here but I guess when you are guilty there is only so much one can do. Trust me if u want to hire someone who is looking out for you this is the attorney you want Kevin w Snyder

I was online looking for an attorney and came across Kim's reviews. Kim represented my ex-husband a laundry list of times and other than a lot of money out the door, he kept him at home with our family at the time. Without Kim, my ex would have been looking at some serious time. I know I cannot afford him, but if I could, he would be my first choice for a top notch defense. But, I must say a person obviously gets what they pay for here. Still can't believe my ex was able to walk out of court and not into a jail cell that many times!! The ex MRS.JT

Very disappointed with Mr. Varner. Lazy. Nearly impossible to get a phone call back even with a child's safety is involved. I believe it is time for him to retire.

I sat on a jury that decided a case where Kim defended an alleged **** driver.
When the state presented its case, I thought it was a slam dunk, until Kim exposed the total incompetence of the state trooper involved.
This obviously involved a lot of work and experience on Kim’s part. The trial lasted over 7 hours and the defendant was rightfully acquitted.
What scared me was, this SC State Trooper makes Barney Fife look like Super Cop and if people like me can’t afford a great attorney like Kim, we will have to take whatever the Barney accuses us of.

This lawyer is afraid of nothing and controls a courtroom. Definitely get what you paid for. Those that left negative reviews probably didnt follow Mr. Varner's advice or had unrealistic expectations. He was very clear about what I should expect and that he could never predict what a Judge or jury might decide. Mr. Varner was well prepared and very knowledgeable, and thats more than you'll find with most other so called lawyers.

I went to see Mr. Varner at the advice of a friend. He seemed nice but I did not like the fact that he spoke about himself almost the entire time during my first $250 visit. I rescheduled and never heard back from his office after making calls to ask what I should be prepared to bring that day. When I did reach someone they were rude to me and I decided to seek someone else. I guess they didn't need my business.

A lawyer that sounds good from the beginning, but is in actuality a lawyer that doesn't have your best interests in mind at all. He makes you think you are going to win 100%, and then you get to court only to lose all the way. He then just shrugs and says "out of my control" just like that, and walks off without another word.
