I hired Mike Reilly for 3 separate cases. In 1991 for a divorce, 1993-1994 for a child custody case and in 1994 (somewhat beyond) for a suit against the TTC for a train accident at the Metro Zoo. For the 1st 2 cases, I could’t have been more pleased with the results. Divorced with no problems and a court order for child support in place. In the second instance, Michael “took a chance” on me and I on him, again. It was a close call, but the custody case was granted in my favour and my daughter T and I have spent nearly 30 years as a family with ALL of her siblings, from both sides & 2 (step) grand-daughters, her nieces, now a part of our family. The third case was protracted, as motor vehicle and large corporation, or city related suits often are. I was transferred to another lawyer which was disastrous, but in the end, Michael took accountability, resumed responsibility and advised me sternly, but in retrospect, wisely. We settled for a reasonable sum for me and my 3 kids. Thank you M!

Case dragged out well beyond when it could have settled, the result has been excessive costs for everyone involved. His ongoing tactic has been to create non-existent issues and then drag things out. I encourage you to reach out to other lawyers in the area and get their feedback on him, you will not receive any positive feedback as I learned. Find a lawyer who is focused on moving your family through the stressful time of divorce in an amicable and expedious manner. You can easily find his court materials in the public record and see for yourself if he'll represent your best interest or creates conflict for the sake of his pocket. Hope you spend the time to research this particular lawyer before hiring him.

My name is Michael Reilly and I am the lawyer being reviewed here. I have reviewed the negative comments about me and my firm and have a little doubt they were not left by any of my clients. I suppose it is an occupational hazard that the party on the other side of a lawsuit in which I am involved tends to dislike me. This is hardly surprising accordingly, I encourage you not to pay any attention to any of the reviews about me or other lawyers on this site. I do not pander, and I do not ask my clients to leave positive reviews. In an industry such as mine, there is such significant incentive for a losing party on the other side to leave a negative review that the ratings process simply cannot be trusted. I encourage you to retain a lawyer through a personal referral. Try to obtain several names and call those lawyers and speak to them directly to form your own opinion. Relying on rating services such as this one is beyond misleading. Good luck if you’re searching for a lawyer.

I have used this firm and Michaels services a few times over the past several years. My experience has been extremely positive. Michael was very professional and prompt in addressing my legal matters. I have recommended his services to several friends who have had similar positive results.

Simple case was dragged for a very long time. Came to Court unprepared! Anger issues. At the end NOTHING was done but charged a lot! Extremely unprofessional!

It has been a very poor experience.They provided me poor advice, made mistakes and dragged the case. I have spent over 25k for past 3 years for a simple divorce and no results. They over charged me for everything with no results. You will lose your money and waste your time. I had to get a new lawyer to move forward with my case/ It was a very very disappointing experience.

I can not speak highly enough of Mike and his team's efforts in helping me with my custody battle. His experience and advice was exactly what was needed to develop a clear concise plan to navigate the legal pitfalls ahead of me, Not only did he take the time to explain each step, but also the possible costs and outcomes. Absolutely BRUTAL. Do NOT throw your hard earned money at this firm. The only thing they are good at is dragging out the process in order to maximize their own profit while minimizing case progression. 3 Years in...25,000 dollars poorer...and not a single element of the case resolved. Nothing explained to the client. No advice that is not in the context of money. No Custody order. No Divorce. No ethics. No advocacy. Nothing. Total nightmare.

DON'T USE THEM! They charge you ridiculous amounts of money without being upfront about it. They are NOT compassionate and only care about making a $$$. I would never recommend Reilly & Partners to ANYONE! DON'T USE THEM!
