From the moment I called the office and Vaughn came on the phone, I was at ease. He made the entire process extremely easy and was fun to meet with. Made me confident and comfortable regarding my case the entire time. Has greatttt coffee if you meet him at his office in the morning.

WORST...ATTORNEY...EVER. Vaugn Taus was pleasant and assuring. But once he got my money he was impossible to contact, turned my case over to an incompetent legal assistant, filled out the forms with incorrect information & filed them late. Our mortgage bank, Wells Fargo, needed a statement from him, that it was okay to for them to speak with us. His secretary (his wife) said it was 'outide the scope of his representation' and would not provide it. She said THEY would work with Wells Fargo but it would cost another $3500! He didn't show up for the 341(a) meeting of the creditors, had made mistakes on my petition and caused another lawsuit by a creditor to be filed. I retained a different attorney to amend my paperwork. I have been told my three bankruptcy attorneys in Santa Barbara that Vaughn Taus has a horrible reputation and his represetation in my case is typical. Look up "Adversary Proceeding". It's a nightmare. You are at risk if you hire Vaugn Taus. Stay far away from this clown.

never returned phone calls. Employed kids as his paralegals. Lost documents. caused delays that cost client thousands of dollars. did not stick to his own flat fee contract and asked for more money one day before papers had to be filed.

Mr. Taus is really good in selling his services and showing his concern for your well being before he is hired. However after he has your money... trying to get him to communicate and outline the information he needs to start, maintain and complete the BK process is nothing less than exasperating. His work ethic is questionable and his last minute hurry up and sign this document antics before its to late is par for the course. There in no doubt he has the ability to act in your best interest but getting him to be timely is of great concern. If you choose to hire him expect to double the time it would take a first year law student to complete the task. Good Luck

Mr. Taus did a good job with our bankruptcy, which was pretty complicated. He stuck with the case and suggested a solution when the first plan failed. It was hard to get a call back sometimes, but his office staff was helpful and friendly. The documents he submitted on our behalf to the court were always correct, and he was always prepared for deadlines. The bankruptcy representation was expensive, but not as expensive as the hole we had dug for ourselves, so the value was fair to good.

My association with Mr. Taus was not a good experience. His communication with me was not prompt and sometimes I had to call him to find out when a hearing date was. Almost got me thrown in "Contempt of Court" due to a statment he made to the judge that "he and I had issues" The only issue I had with him was his lack of communication instructing me of what was required.
